Production Manager – Temporary
(roughly mid-October through mid-January), Part-time (average of 15-20 hours per week, will fluctuate depending on phase of production)
The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of physical production for AfterWork Theater’s ongoing productions. For the fall of 2021 this will entail at least one Mainstage Musical, one “Sing Out” Musical Revue, and one “Holiday Sing-a-Ling” as well as pre-production preparation for the 2022 Winter season. The PM is responsible for overseeing all equipment and production elements (acquisition, load-in, strike), as well as meeting regularly with the Creative team to help their vision come to fruition within time and budget constraints. The PM is responsible for overseeing the Backstage and Front of House for all performances, which may include staffing paid and volunteer positions.
The Production Manager is also responsible for overseeing any necessary space rentals for rehearsals and ongoing classes, and maintaining communication and a relationship with venues. Responsible for purchasing and reconciliation of purchases, as well as ensuring all staff are properly onboarded and paid.
The PM will attend up to 2 (mostly virtual) senior staff meetings per week that may also serve as work sessions. This job predominantly involves the use of Google Suite, as well as a few other software tools that are fairly intuitive. The PM reports directly to the ED and works in close collaboration with other AWT staff members and Creative Team members of individual productions.

AWT is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to anti-racism and that value will play an integral role in the filling of this position. We will ask that the person hired agree to the following pledge:
I pledge to uphold AfterWork Theater’s commitment to being an actively anti-racist organization. Where we do not discriminate based on race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, country of origin, religion, political affiliations, age, body type, physical ability, beliefs or life choices. Where our white team members acknowledge their privilege and the role it has played in their career advancement, and understand that this commitment can often require that privilege to be named and discussed. Where we strive to create an inclusive and diverse community–and as we work toward that vision, we support our BIPOC team members in being leaders of a community that doesn’t yet reflect their lived experiences. Where we ask all team members, when they have the social and professional power to do so, to demonstrate their commitment to this pledge by lending their creative talents outside of AWT to other institutions that are also actively anti-racist, and to avoid involvement in those that are not.
