Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. Reporting to the Director of Patron Programs, The Patron Programs Manager helps manage all elements of the Patron Program and supports the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors $2,000 - $ 9,999 through all fundraising channels.
The Patron Program manager is charged with researching prospecting by utilizing BAM's database and other resources to create a robust pipeline of new donors for our patron program and major gift officers.
This position prepares materials for the Patron Program's annual fundraising and stewardship efforts. In addition, this role manages Patron Program administration and events and supports the Director of Patron Program as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day relationships and communications with patrons
Coordinate patron events, including developing invitation lists, designing and deploying digital invitations, and managing RSVP lists
Manage donor records with database management needs for the Patron program
Design and implement strategies for acquiring, renewing, and upgrading donors at the $2k+ level
Write solicitation letters, appeals, proposals, and special campaign materials as appropriate
Work with the Special Events & Individual Giving teams to conceptualize cultivation events, especially for prospects
Assist the Director of Patron Programs in building the prospect pipeline of donors
Generate, review, and edit Patron listings in printed and electronic materials
Administers and tracks patron pledges and pledge payment schedules
Create and manage annual and monthly pledge status reports and reminder notifications for patrons
Generate one-pagers for all prospects and patrons that include essential information on donors
Works with other areas in Development areas to manage donor relationships
Provides departmental support and completes ad-hoc task as assigned
Ability to work late evenings and weekends for donor events and to attend performances
Ability to work remote and in-person
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
At least 3-5 years of experience in fundraising
Experience working with Tessitura and IWave
Proficiency with standard business applications, such as Microsoft 365
Strong qualitative and quantitative skills who can bring an innovative and enthusiastic approach to expanding the field of donors
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills - can connect the dots to provide insight to Major Gift Officers on patron information gathered during research
Demonstrated knowledge of using wealth screen, analysis tools, and foundation research platforms for prospect research and portfolio management.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines with limited oversight
Committed to and enthusiastic about the mission, programs, and services of BAM
Strong customer service skills
Persuasive communicator with demonstrated interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
Experience with prospect development and moves management best practices.
Excellent writing skills, ability to shift priorities, flexibility and resourcefulness, professionalism, and strong discretion in working with confidential information.
Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis.
Compensation: The salary for this position is $61,661 per year. The role is represented by Local 2110 and will be paid in accordance with the BAM/UAW Local 2110 Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is full-time, exempt, and eligible for benefits.
