Open Call - The Industry

ABOUT

The Industry is an experimental company that expands the operatic form, bringing together interdisciplinary artists to create collaborative performances that engage the cultural landscape of Los Angeles. We believe that opera is a living form that should respond to new perspectives and voices in contemporary culture.



Current/recent Industry projects include: Star Choir at Mt Wilson Observatory (Sep/Oct ‘23), Hive Rise at MOCA Geffen (‘21) and Sweet Land @ LA State Historic Park (‘20).



The Industry is currently casting show by all three artistic directors, Ash Fure, Malik Gaines, and Yuval Sharon, to be workshopped and performed at various times in 2024-2025.

AUDITIONS

By invite only

Location: Downtown Los Angeles Saturday, September 9 11a - 6pm Auditioning: all vocal ranges including specialists in extended vocal techniques



Material: Please come prepared with two contemporary arias or vocal works. Dramatic and stylistic contrast recommended. If you would like an accompanist, one will be provided so please plan to bring multiple printed copies of your sheet music. A speaker will be available for recorded accompaniment as well.
Salary: $50-100/hr
