Millbrook Playhouse, a professional Summer Stock Theatre in Central PA, is seeking: Set Designers, Lighting Designer, Prop Designer, Costume Designers, and Sound Designer/Mixer, Company/Production Manager, Technical Director, ATD, Stage Managers, Wardrobe/ Assistant Costume Designer, Carpenters, and Box Office Staff to serve in their 2022 Summer season.



About Millbrook: For 59 years, Millbrook Playhouse has offered up-and-coming directors, designers, and theatre technicians a unique opportunity to add practical, hands-on experience to their resumes. Must be able to work creatively within budget constraints and calmly in a fast-paced environment. Best for Individuals who can multitask, prioritize, and make a long day productive and fun. Designers and senior Staff must have strong leadership skills and oversee interns and actor-techs.



Millbrook Playhouse is a traditional summer theatre housed in a converted old dairy barn with two stages, a 246-seat thrust stage and a 100-seat Cabaret Theatre. The Main Stage season comprises three large-scale musicals and two Theatre Camps, and the Cabaret season consists of three smaller plays.



2022 Main Stage season: Camelot (small cast), Jersey Boys, Rent. Cabaret Season: Side Kicked by Kim Powers, Ken Ludwig's Dear Jack, Dear Louise, and Stephen King's Misery.

-Contracts run from late May till mid-August, and some contracts may start earlier or run later.

-Pay varies based on experience, responsibilities, and length of the contract.

-Senior Staff/designers are paid $300.00-$500.00 weekly BOE.

-Junior Staff: ASM, Master Carp., Crew, M.E., Wardrobe, production crew; pay for $250.00-$350.00 BOE.

-Willing to job-in designers for a one or two show contract. Stipend based.

-Willing to consider designer/managers positions.

-Housing provided. Shared.

-Bus and/or transportation reimbursement to and from Millbrook Playhouse is provided for people traveling from the tri-state area.

-Dinner is provided on all working days. (Catered from local restaurants.)

-Please note: that all employees must be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus before arrival in P.A. All employees will be required to be tested for the Covid-19 virus and have a negative test result 72 hours before arriving. Proof of negative test shall be required on the day of arrival.
