Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) is a national charity that fuels the future of American theater by supporting the writers who create it. DGF fosters playwrights, composers, lyricists, and librettists at all stages of their careers. We sponsor educational programs; provide awards, grants, and stipends; offer free space to create new works; and give emergency aid to writers in need. By supporting and nurturing the creators of today, we protect the stories of tomorrow.



In 2022, DGF is undergoing a strategic planning process that is reexamining our purpose and strategy. In addition, the DGF Staff are implementing anti-oppression practices in all aspects of the organization, including identifying and challenging oppressive characteristics of typical work culture. Position Summary:

Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) seeks a self-motivated and efficient professional to help support the overall organizational branding strategy. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Marketing and Events Manager will assume responsibility for management and execution of content creation, event planning, design, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities to support the Communications and Development departments.

Position Status: Full-Time Exempt Salaried



Start Date: June 2022 (based on candidate’s availability)



Location:

520 8th Ave, Suite 2401, New York, NY 10018. DGF has a Work From Home policy for after the office opens, however, since this is a leadership role involved in overseeing on site programs, 60 - 80% of their work time is on site when the office opens. The DGF Office is ADA accessible.



Salary: $65,000



Benefits and Perks:

• Health, dental, and vision insurance (after 30 days), with premiums covered 100% by DGF for the employee and one spouse, domestic partner, or dependent.

• Life insurance for the employee (after 30 days).

• Commuter Benefits (includes public transportation and parking)

• 401K with 3% employer contributions (after 1 year).

• 6 weeks of paid time off annually, prorated to start date (after 30 days), Federal Holidays off, 3 flexible holidays for religious and cultural observances, and additional time off as a team at the discretion of the Executive Director.

• Occasional free theater tickets and access to purchase house seats if available.

• Eligibility for annual performance-based bonus of up to 7% of salary rate, prorated to start date. Bonus not guaranteed.



Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support the Director of Communications in the overall Communications strategy for the organization, including how best to utilize the organization’s digital presence to communicate DGF’s mission

• Manage promotional strategy and digital outreach for DGF’s programming, fundraising and special events

• Work closely with the Development team to create, design and print fundraising materials, including event invites, donor reports, and mailers

• Oversee day-to-day interactions on DGF’s social media platforms, including responding to DMs, liking/sharing posts, and other activities to boost engagement.

• Work with DGF’s Social Media Consultant to create weekly content calendars and identify opportunities in the digital landscape to amplify DGF’s programming, resources and community of theater writers

• Manage edits to the DGF website

• Manage the organization of archival photo and video storage for the organization

• Manage travel and accommodations, styling, and special requests for writers and performers involved in fundraising and special events, including the annual DGF Gala.

• Prepare quarterly tracking reports for the Director of Communications



Other Specific Duties Include:

•Collaborate with the DGF team through updates and communications in project management platform, Monday.com

• Maintain records in an organized fashion in Google Drive

• Attending occasional in-person and virtual work events (often evening); conversing with beneficiaries, donors, and Board Members.



Qualifications and Skills Required:

• 3-5 years of related work experience in a full-time Marketing or Events position.

• Experience with online marketing platforms, including experience working with e-mail and social marketing systems (Constant Contact, Buffer, etc.)

• Experience in copy editing and graphic design

• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills

• Knowledge of the theater industry a plus

• Ability to foresee challenges and problem solve

• Ability to direct graphic design vision for the organization

• Ability to work as part of a team and multitask

• Experience with basic HTML, specifically in WordPress

• Experience with targeted marketing, Google Analytics and SEO Strategy

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
