The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a full-time, salaried position working out of the Williamstown, Massachusetts, office year-round. They are responsible for coordinating the planning and execution of all Williamstown Theatre Festival marketing and communications efforts. Primary duties include the creation and distribution of content for all WTF communications channels and will act as a key member of the team that develops strategic, long-term marketing plans.
The ideal candidate is an enterprising individual with excellent project management skills, a keen eye for detail, a superior creative aesthetic, and a passion for the performing arts and the development of its audiences and promotion of its work.
KEY YEAR-ROUND DUTIES:
In coordination with the Director of Development & Communications and the Director of Audience Engagement, create and maintain a comprehensive WTF marketing and communications plan for all WTF communication channels, including email, social media, website, web advertisement, print advertisement, press release, direct mail, programs, posters, and signage
Produce and distribute all marketing and communications assets, including graphics and copy, often in-house and sometimes in collaboration with outside contractors and seasonal marketing team members
Ensure that all elements of the WTF marketing and communications plan are completed on time and on budget and reflect WTF’s commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Anti-Racism
PUBLIC-FACING DUTIES:
Act as an ambassador for the Festival in Williamstown and the greater Berkshires, including but not limited to attendance and visibility at town functions, community events, arts advocacy gatherings, marketing and tabling opportunities, nonprofit panels, and other events
Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with local press (Berkshire County, Capital Region, Southern VT), servicing their needs in-season and throughout the year in concert with an out-of-house Public Relations firm based in NYC
In coordination with the Director of Development & Communications and the Director of Audience Engagement, assist in year-round audience development efforts
SUMMER-SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Assist in the hiring and supervision of the summer Marketing Office
Oversee content creation and day-to-day activities of the Marketing Office
Coordinate press activities, including press ticket reservations and press packet creation and distribution
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Perform regular updates and routine maintenance of content on the WTF website
Monitor and ensure accuracy of WTF show and event listings in external media
Maintain the press, photo, and video archives and fulfill all internal and external requests
Report on marketing and communications activities as requested or assigned
Complete other duties as assigned
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to quickly craft and deliver clear, accurate, and engaging messaging, for marketing purposes and in the regular course of business
Excellent graphic design skills; able to thoughtfully craft and deliver engaging graphics for all media
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact well with a variety of personalities and individuals including staff, press, and vendors

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Fluency with Adobe Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop, or other graphic design software is required
High level of computer aptitude and proficiency in Google Workspace software is required
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media is required
Familiarity with MailChimp or other email marketing software is preferred
Familiarity with WordPress or other web publishing software is preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced marketing environment is preferred
