Mama, I Want to Sing! has been gracing stages since 1983 and is now returning in February 2023 for its 40th Anniversary Black History Month celebration! The classic Black Gospel musical is based on Mama Vy's sister, Doris Troy, and her journey to fulfilling her dream of becoming a singer.

Lead Role:
Doris Winter (12 - 20+ years old, 1st Soprano, Loves to sing R&B and Gospel)
Principal Roles:
- Mama (30-40 years old, alto)
- Reverend Winter (Mid-50s, tenor, fiery preacher, loving father, Large presence)
- Sister Carrie (Star soloist of the church, soprano)
- Minister of Music (Directs the choir, tenor, must also be a great dancer)
Auditions for lead roles will be held Wednesday, September 7 and 14 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at 149 West 126th St, New York, NY 10027 between Lenox and 7th Ave.
Auditions for principal roles will be held Saturday, September 17 and 24 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at 149 West 126th St, New York, NY 10027 between Lenox and 7th Ave.
Pay range reflected will be a weekly stipend during performance weeks only. Rehearsals will be a flat rate of $15/hr. Performance weeks rate TBD.
Salary: $600 - $1200
