Position Summary:
The Lead, Entertainment Technical Operations & Recruiting is responsible for overseeing all technical entertainment staffing needs for the Celebrity Cruises fleet. This includes managing all recruitment efforts on digital media platforms, industry trade shows, and relationship development with international education institutions. The Lead, Entertainment Technical Operations & Recruiting will ensure all Celebrity Cruises operated vessels are fully staffed with qualified professionals in the areas of stage management, production management and technical equipment operation including lighting, sound, performer flying, stage automation and stage staff. Furthermore, the Lead, Entertainment Technical Operations & Recruiting will provide overall support to the technical operations department by performing various administrative and operational tasks for fleet technical and production needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops, executes, and manages fleetwide entertainment technical staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling for all stage & production management, technical directors, operators, and stage staff (lighting, sound, performer flying, stage automation) positions, overseeing and managing the scheduling database system.
• Develops, executes, and manages (in conjunction with the Manager, Entertainment Technical) the schedules of shipboard site visits by Celebrity Cruises, technical entertainment vendors engaged in conducting ongoing safety inspections, maintenance, and shipboard staff training. Supervises the securing of shipboard cabins for all technical vendors and will assist with vendor travel arrangements as needed.
• Acts as a brand ambassador by representing Celebrity Cruises at industry trade shows, conferences, and digital media platforms to attract and obtain top entertainment industry professionals. Will plan and carry out a yearly schedule of recruiting events, marketing campaigns and advertisement opportunities to further the Celebrity brand presence in the entertainment technology industry.
• Will analyze and appraise the performance of shipboard entertainment technical staff. Identifies top performing talent and implements tangible career development steps. Investigates all terminations and resignations of shipboard technical entertainment staff; developing action plans aimed at reducing termination and attrition rates.
• Assist with the ongoing development and implementation of shipboard training programs designed to ensure a consistent level of quality job performance by establishing best practice methods, consistency, and safety expectations.
• Responsible for (in conjunction with the Manager, Entertainment Technical Operations) all shipboard entertainment technical staff salary recommendations. Executes all shipboard salary and position changes for entertainment technical staff.
• Assists with the execution of purchase orders (AMOS) placed for equipment procurement and vendor service invoices. Performs tracking and reconciliation exercises on the entertainment Repair & Maintenance budget (in conjunction with the Manager, Entertainment Technical Operations).
• Assists with the tracking of shipboard reports; performer flying, automation, maintenance, show and EOV’s.
• Supervises and maintains the Celebrity Cruises Entertainment website and assists with supervision of social media channels under the direction of the Vice President, Entertainment.
• Facilitates scheduling needs for Broadcast Managers and staff based on schedules set by supervisors of the broadcast departments.
• Plans and manages yearly recruitment budget for travel and expenses associated with industry events, commissioning and procurement of branded marketing assets, and other advertising costs.
• Administrator of entertainment Repair & Maintenance budget. Tracking and reconciliation of purchase orders and other expenses under the direction of the Manager, Entertainment Technical Operations.
• Monitors CAM and shipboard payroll costs associated with the movement and overlap of shipboard staff members and will practice financially efficient scheduling tactics as much as possible.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in theatrical management (stage, production, technical) or entertainment administration from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four (4) years professional experience in theatrical management or administration with an emphasis on technology.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of theatrical lighting, audio, performer flying and stage automation systems.
• Experience developing and maintaining large production or staffing schedules.
• Experience managing a budget and expenses.
• Prior experience working onboard a cruise ship is highly preferred but not necessary
• Able to interpret and execute a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Web design and digital marketing experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to tactfully communicate with a wide range of people including prospective employees, corporate executives, and shipboard staff from all over the world.
• Excellent understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of various theatre technology positions (stage management, lighting, sound, performer flying, etc.).
• Critical problem-solving skills when dealing with unexpected urgent staffing issues that arise.
• Must be outgoing and approachable while representing the brand at industry and recruiting events.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
• Experienced in design and creation of PowerPoint presentations / decks
• Intermediate to Expert knowledge in cost analysis and budget forecasting
