Target Margin Theater seeks a General Manager to join our team. We are a small company and we need a partner in leadership. Our new General Manager will collaborate with the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer to manage the company’s activities and advance the next phase of our growth. The most important qualities we seek are a deep affinity for our company’s artistic mission, and a commitment to the values we aspire to embody in every dimension. Target Margin is an arts organization, but our work expresses the values of justice globally: anti-racism, equity and humane treatment for people, access for all to the work we make and the world we aspire to create. We embrace unorthodox ways of working and seek new ways to think about how we collaborate. BIPOC candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates, and candidates abled in all ways are strongly urged to apply. We also encourage those who may not have conventional resumes to apply; there is no degree requirement for us. Ever. We like to eat.
Our new General Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing Target Margin’s marketing and company management. The General Manager will also contribute to Target Margin’s development efforts and artistic programs, as well as help manage our small but dynamic staff.

ABOUT TMT
Target Margin Theater exists to change our shared culture, to remake the world as a more engaged, aware, and humane version of itself. Everything about our programs and activities flows from this.
We are a multi-OBIE Award-winning theater founded on the principle that works of art return us to real truths most powerfully by their divergence from a strict illustration of reality. We strive to energize the cultural landscape by producing and presenting innovative, experimental performances of classic plays, opera, literature and historical sources, continuously seeking to expand our conception of what can take place in a theater. ‘Difference’ is the generative principle of all we do – from reimagining the relationship between audience and performed event to the strong history of age, race, and gender diversity in our company – and is one of Target Margin’s most identifiable features.
In 2017 we moved into our first ever performance home in Sunset Park Brooklyn. Service to the layered communities of our neighborhood has now grown into an anchor and focus of our work. We cultivate and nurture substantial relationships with many community partners, and we work to bring our artistic work into meaningful relationship with the city around us.
