About All Shook Up – Musical – Directed & Choreographed by Rob Winn Anderson
Rehearsals: January 22 – February 15, 2024 / Performances: February 16 – March 10, 2024 (performances will be Thursdays thru Sundays with two scheduled Wednesday matinees)
It’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing young man who shakes up everything and everyone he meets. While the mayor of the town has imposed a law that prohibits loud music, public necking, and tight pants, the townspeople begin to step out of their humdrum lives to dare to experience something more. A jukebox musical loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and other works, this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”
About Always, Patsy Cline – Musical – Director TBD
Rehearsals: April 8 – April 25, 2024 / Performances: April 26 – May 19, 2024 (performances will be Thursdays thru Sundays with three scheduled Wednesday matinees)
Always, Patsy Cline is a musical based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961. The musical play, complete with down home country humor, and true emotion includes many of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Walking After Midnight.”
About the Garden Theatre
Originally operating as a single-screen theater from 1935 to 1963, Garden Theatre was reborn in 2008 after a complete renovation as a not-for-profit professional organization committed to providing programming from the spectrum of the arts to engage, educate, and inspire all who experience it. At the Garden, we believe and understand that the foundation of a vibrant, thriving theater and performing arts venue is the cross-pollination of diverse programming contributors and artists; the cultivation of inclusive practices and strategies; and the development of a board of directors, team of employees, passion driven volunteers, and a community vested partner/supplier base who share in these values.
