Mad Cow Theatre is one of Orlando’s most respected professional theatre companies presenting compelling works of theatre for a wide-range of audiences, with a passion for both classic and contemporary plays and musicals representing the best of American and World literature. Mad Cow Theatre is seeking a full-time Box Office Manager. Weekends and evenings required during performance runs. Flexibility with hours is also required for special events such as Science Play Festival, Women’s Voices Play Festival, fundraisers and other events/rentals. Salary commensurate with experience.
Duties:
-Manage admission ticket sales by supervising and reviewing performance of staff, overseeing scheduling, participating in training, and regularly updating the box office manual
-Manager on duty for performance evenings, assisting at will call, concessions or wherever needed
-Control financial reporting functions by ensuring full and accurate accountability for all ticket sales and reporting generated by the Box Office
-Lead customer care and organization of the theatre’s Subscription Program
-Answer calls and process ticket orders in the Box Office when needed
-Manage complimentary ticket distribution to all cast & crew
-Perform data entry and create a variety of reports using Excel, CiviCRM & Odeia Theatre Management
-Work closely with Marketing, Development, and Administration to help with problem solving, challenges and to meet revenue goals
Qualifications:
-2-3 years of progressive experience in a Box Office, Front of House or a hospitality management setting with knowledge of ticketing/booking software
-Four year college degree in related field or equivalent experience
-Prior experience with the management and supervision of staff
-Must possess reliable transportation and be willing to use own car for running errands
-Able to lift up to 30lbs
-Professional demeanor and appearance
-A team player who is able to work well with others under sometimes stressful environments
-Experience multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, willing to take initiative, and follow-through on all projects
-Possess strong communication, organizational and people skills
-Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships with patrons and employees
