THE PUBLIC THEATER is theater of, by, and for all people. We are seeking a collaborative and creative technician to join our Lighting Department. The Public’s wide breadth of programming includes an annual season of new work in six venues including Free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Public continues to create the canon of American theater and is currently represented on Broadway by Girl From The North Country. Our programs and productions can also be seen regionally across the country and around the world. The Lighting Department is committed to providing our designers, our co-workers, and each other the best possible environment in which to create this work.
The Public Theater seeks Front of House staff responsible to offer the highest level of customer service to patrons, donors, visiting artists, artist management, and any other member of the public or administration they may encounter based on the Public Theater Policies and Procedures Handbook. Front of House Staff are expected to carry out any job function that management deems appropriate and within the scope of caring for the theater, audience experience, pre-show prep, post-show breakdown, patron and staff safety/emergency response. This role is based out of the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

Requirements:
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb steps repeatedly
• Ability to descend/ascend ramps and inclines/declines
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Work outdoors in a fast-paced, busy environment, with environmental conditions such as excessive heat, high winds, rain, insects, and wildlife
• Candidates must have the ability to adapt to changing weather conditions
• Communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms
• Deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships
• Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to, and appreciation for the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, disability, and gender diversity of patrons and staff attending or working with The Public Theater
• Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to The Public Theater standards
• Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Experience with two-way radios is preferred
