Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a FACILTIES MANAGER at The Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street.



About Signature

Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing six to eight productions annually. In 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. In 2012, Signature opened The Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices.

Position Summary

Reporting to the DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION AND FACILITIES, the FACILITIES MANAGER oversees all aspects of operation and maintenance of the Pershing Square Signature Center. Working closely with rentals, production, IT and Front of House, the FACILITIES MANAGER ensures that all facilities policies and procedures are incorporated effectively into the performance and events schedule.

Responsibilities

Ensure all building systems remain in peak condition.

• Work closely with General Management to ensure all CDC/WHO recommended health and safety protocols are adhered to.

• Evaluate and implement solutions to onsite technical issues for all center systems.

• Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including projects and maintenance scheduling

• Manage the facilities team, security team, custodial team, maintenance personnel, and on-site contractors.

• Support the facilities team as they work closely with Production, General Management and the Rental departments to coordinate resources and address challenges.

• Respond to off-hours emergencies, reporting on site when necessary.

• Create and manage the Facilities budget.

• Review and competitively bid service contracts.

• Assist the Director of Facilities and Production with management of construction and capital projects as need.

• Assess HVAC needs for production schedules, administrative offices, and rentals/events.

• Manage visitor management system and protocols.



Desired Experience

• Minimum three years operations experience in a multi-use facility.

• Ability to learn and convey technical information to a non-technical audience.

• Knowledge of automated BMS, CCTV (CMMS) trouble ticket systems.

• Building/mechanical, electrical systems (MEP).

• Construction/MEP drawings.

• HVAC systems.

• New York City Building codes.

• Basic Electrical and Plumbing.

• Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.

• Microsoft Office Suite.

• Theatre venue operations experience preferred.



Desired Certifications

• CPR/AED

• Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel (FDNY F-03)

• Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems (FDNY S-95)

• Active shooter training



Compensation

The position is full-time, salaried and exempt. Annual salary is $75,000-$80,000.
