Responsibilities:
Overall Accountability: The Executive Director works alongside the board on the development, the management and strategic direction of Theatre Baton Rouge.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Theatre Baton Rouge Board of Governors.
Goals and Plans Execution: Implements the goals and strategic plans established by the Board of Governors.
Budget and Financial Policies: Adheres to the Budget set by the Governor of Finance and committee.
Relationship Management: Builds and maintains relationships with board members, donors, patrons, community leaders, other arts organizations, and the public.
Supervision: Oversees the Operations Manager and Technical Director. The Operations Manager supervises box office staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Development and Fundraising: Focuses on development and relationship-building to sustain the theater's financial needs.
Design and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government sources.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, sponsors, and grantors.
Oversee grant writing and reporting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
Organizational Culture: Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive organizational culture.
Public Relations: Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, enhancing TBR’s public image and community presence.
Staff Management: Collaborate with the board to hire and oversee production staff, including directors, designers, and technical crew for each performance.
Artistic Quality: Ensure high standards of artistic quality and production value for all TBR performances.
Production Coordination: Coordinate with production teams to develop schedules, budgets, and logistical plans for each show.
Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including local businesses, schools, and other arts organizations.
Develop and implement outreach programs to engage diverse audiences and increase community involvement in theater arts.
Represent Theatre Baton Rouge at community events, public forums, and other functions.
Board Collaboration: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and strategic direction.
Provide regular reports and updates to the Board on organizational performance, financial status, and strategic initiatives.
Assist in identifying and recruiting new Board members.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Theater Management, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a non-profit arts organization, preferably in theater.
Fundraising Expertise: Proven track record in fundraising and development, with experience in grant writing and donor cultivation.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills with a collaborative management style.
Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking abilities.
Passion: A deep passion for the performing arts and a commitment to TBR’s mission and values.
Salary: 60,000-80,000
