General Summary: Senior Manager position responsible for the fiscal management and human resource functions of the Asolo Repertory Theatre.
Position Description:
• Finance/Human Resource Director plays a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations. A participative manager who leads and develops an internal team to support the areas of finance, business planning and budget, human resources and IT.

• HR Manager, Staff Accountant, Business Assistant, Receptionist
Essential Job Functions – Fiscal Management:
• Supervises and analyzes annual budget development for all departments, including preparation of business office portion for institution. Monitors cash flow and budget compliance for all departments. Identifies pockets of potential savings and helps negotiate with vendors.
• Manages Financial Edge accounting system.
• Responsible for all checking, cash and investment accounts. Negotiates lines of credit, oversees credit applications, and develops payment plans and discount rates.
• Coordinates financial reporting requirements with Development Department for grant applications, including submission of proposals, reimbursement documentation and final reports.
• Oversees accounts payable disbursements to vendors.
• Creates required journal entrees prior to generating financial statements. Maintains general ledger. Prepares reports for department heads to validate expense and revenue entries prior to financial statements preparation.
• Manages and works on annual audit. Serves as liaison with accounting firm and Audit Committee. Oversees and prepares supporting documentation for audit.
• Negotiates and supervises all contracts equipment and maintenance in offices: copy machines, faxes and postage meter. Supervises and trains staff on use of software. Makes daily decisions regarding accounting, coding, negotiating, fiscal situations, discounts, and cash flow.
• All other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors, Managing Director and or the Producing Artistic Director.
Essential Job Functions – Human Resources:
• Supervises and assists HR Manager in the performance of:
• Work with new employees to enroll them in insurance plans and works as ombudsman to solve problems. Monitors compliance with U.S. Dept. of Labor, FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA, OSHA and all labor union contracts.
• Maintain all insurance policies for employee benefits (403B, Health, Dental, Life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Vision and Dental) as well as general liability, director and officers, volunteer coverage and workers’ compensation insurance. Handle all worker’s compensation and general liability claims. Liaison with all insurance providers.
• Oversee development and updates for personnel manual. Reviews procedures and practices for compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Maintain file of job descriptions. Coordinates personnel searches and hires. Responsible for all exit interviews and transition benefits including COBRA for all terminated employees. Responsible for all personnel files.
Essential Job Functions – Department Head and Senior Team Member:
• Attends monthly board, finance and executive committee, strategic planning, department heads, and operations committee meetings. Serves as staff liaison for Finance Task Force, Facility Task Force, Endowment Campaign Task Force and any other finance oriented task force appointed by the board.
• Works to support the vigorous operation, mission and goals of the institution with leadership and collegial working relationships.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Highly organized, self-motivated and has professional oral and written communications skills; ability to maintain good rapport with management and staff in other departments such as marketing, development etc.
• Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• High level of computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and accounting software. Excel skills should include advanced formulas (vlookups, pivot tables, etc) for data analysis. Tessitura Ticketing/Donations software experienced a plus.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration with finance or accounting major.
• Masters and CPA a plus.
• Five (5) years work experience in a fund accounting environment with general ledger responsibilities. (Performing Arts or not-for-profit experience preferred)
Salary: $100-110K
