Digital Playwriting Boot Camp

Join Educational Director Elizabeth Crase and fellow writers for Digital Playwriting Boot Camp, June 14-24. Participating writers will receive a speedy crash course in the fundamentals of playwriting, followed by a mixture of one-on-one and group activities via zoom to build skills in character creation and development, conflict, story arc, self editing and more.
You will be able to choose between morning (10am) or afternoon (4pm) group zoom sessions.
Writing and brainstorming zoom sessions are independent and one-on-one sessions can be scheduled with Elizabeth based on your availability throughout the two weeks.
There will be a showcase of your writing on Thursday, June 24 at 6pm (digital or outdoor venue TBD).
Must be able to read and write to participate, groups will be formed based on participant age and experience level, adults and participants from out of town are welcome to register.

About Elizabeth:
Elizabeth Crase holds an Associate of Fine Arts in Theatre from Young Harris College in Georgia, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Montana. She began theatre at a young age in Georgia performing with Rome Little Theatre and had the unique experience of working as an intern with Prospect Theatre Company out of NYC while still in high school. After performing in theatres across the South, Elizabeth worked in Butte as both an actor and as Education Coordinator with the Buttenik Ensemble at the Covellite Theatre from 2005-2007, with whom she toured from 2007-2009. She also had the amazing experience of touring with Montana Repertory’s Educational Outreach Tour as Eve in Mark Twain’s The Diaries of Adam and Eve. Following her tour, Elizabeth worked as Assistant Director for an after school theatre program called Promises in Portland, OR. During her time in Portland she also worked as a Performer and as the Live Acts Coordinator for Clowns Unlimited where she trained performers in clowning, balloon art, face painting, stilt walking and stage magic. In 2011, Elizabeth returned to Montana as an actor with Brewery Follies of Virginia City where she performed for three years and again in 2019. She is currently enrolled in the Creative Pulse Master’s Program at the University of Montana where she will earn her Master in Fine Arts for Integrated Arts and Education. Since joining the staff as Educational Director at Orphan Girl Children's Theatre, Elizabeth has directed Aristocats KIDS, Drop Dead Juliet, Sleeping Beauty KIDS, Steel Magnolias, Same Difference: A Disabilities Awareness Play, Duck Ugly, The Miracle Worker, The Lion King Jr., Into the Woods Jr., Disney's Newsies, Babes in Toyland, Shine Your Light: An Orphan Girl Cabaret (The Reach up and Rise Cast) and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Elizabeth also co-wrote an adaptation of The Emperor's New Clothes with Jackie Freeman as well as Buttehaven for the 10/24 Play Festival in 2019! Elizabeth resides in Butte with her husband, daughter and furry-children, Beau and Hadley!
