The Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts, located in Mamaroneck, New York, (Westchester County), seeks an experienced Box Office Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Emelin’s box office. The Emelin Theatre, with 269-seats and undergoing renovation, is a non-profit organization and one of the most significant venues for the performing arts in Westchester County. With more than 125 events each year, we present a diverse range of music, dance, film, comedy and family programming serving audiences throughout the region. This is a great opportunity to join the Emelin as we prepare to reopen in October and celebrate our 50th Anniversary in 2022.
The Box Office Manager is responsible for daily box office operations including, but not limited to the following:
• Management of SPEKTRIX Ticketing System, including building and maintaining all events, subscription programs, and the annual gala
• Assist all departments in customization of SPEKTRIX functionality in Marketing and Development efforts
• Manage sales process for walk in, phone and internet customers
• Prepare box office for each performance and coordinate with front of house staff
• Reconcile event sales and concession revenue, and provide corresponding reporting to Finance Department
• Schedule, supervise and train hourly box office staff
• Support front of house operations, and administrative departments as necessary
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, requests and complaints
• Operate the box office with excellent customer service to maintain strong relationships with the Emelin’s patrons
• Flexible hours depending on timing of shows, projects and special events. Night, weekend and some holiday hours will be required.
Candidates should have the following qualifications
• Excellent working knowledge of SPEKTRIX ticketing system
• 3-5 years of Box Office Experience
• Work effectively under pressure
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google apps
• Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to clearly communicate with staff, artists, and audience members alike
