Blackboard Plays Seeking Directors! - Blackboard Plays

Blackboard Plays is partnering with Ghostlight Productions and Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL) to promote a platform for black theatre artists and creatives. Two playwrighting festivals (Black Motherhood & Parenting New Play Festival and the Obsidian Theatre Festival) are in the process of producing their finalist’s plays. Blackboard will be producing 12 of the semi-finalists (6 from each festival) for their 2022 reading season. We are seeking directors for this upcoming season for either one or more readings and for future Blackboard Readings. This submission will create a Director Database for Blackboard Plays.

Deadline:

For consideration for the 2022 projects, please submit by Friday, June 27th, by 11:59pm EST. We will still accept submissions on a rolling basis after the deadline for future consideration.



Location:

The rehearsal and the live reading will be digital via Zoom.



Rehearsal/Performance:

There will be one rehearsal prior to the live Zoom reading. This rehearsal will take place the day prior or the day of the reading. The rehearsal will be four hours max.



The live readings will take place on a Friday or Monday evening, July-October 2022.
