Auditions for Rocky Horror Shadow Cast - The Center for Performing Arts Governors State University

Governors State University Center for Performing Arts is delighted to present a live shadow cast production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday, October 27th.



The production will be helmed by Jane Cox.



About the show

What is a shadow cast? During a shadow cast performance, a classic film is played behind the actors who perform (usually lip syncing but speaking and singing along is fine) in front of the screen to the delight, laughter and call backs of the audience.



The performance date: Friday, October 27 at 8 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Governors State University.



Rehearsals will be held once weekly, between October 3 and 21 with three dress rehearsals the week of October 27th. Rehearsal schedule will depend on the cast's availability.



CASTING

Seeking performers of all disciplines and experience levels. Actors, drag kings and queens, burlesque performers and more are encouraged to audition! All that is required is a love for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. We encourage all gender identities and presentations to audition.



The auditions:

Prepare to lip-sync to or sing to a song or scene of your choice. If you have a costume or costumes, please bring those with you to the audition. Screen accurate costumes ARE NOT required to audition or to participate. We will provide the clip of the film and have it playing behind you during your audition. Virtual auditions sent to will also be considered and must be submitted to jcox1@govst.edu by 10 p.m. on October 2.



Auditions will take place Monday, October 2 from 5 to 10 p.m. on the Center for Performing Arts stage. If you cannot attend auditions, please email jcox1@govst.edu to submit a virtual audition or schedule a different time.



This is a volunteer production with no pay.
