Assistant Technical Director of Rigging Operations - The Glimmerglass Festival

The Glimmerglass Festival seeks an Assistant Technical Director—Rigging Operations for its 2022 Festival Season. The Assistant Technical Director – Rigging Operations reports to the Technical Director.



The ATD coordinates installation and maintenance of hanging scenery and all stock rigging equipment, including life safety systems & chain motors. Directly supervises one Staff Rigger and one Rigging Apprentice. Assists in supervising and planning rigging changeovers with the Stage Operations Dept. Assists supervising the TD Apprentice. Archives productions for future rentals. Maintains rigging supply room and budget. Attends some technical rehearsals, and acts as a show supervisor when needed. Participates in load in/out and changeovers. Schedule is variable and includes nights and weekends. Experience operating rigging during shows and welding/fabrication is required. Ideal candidates will have worked in a repertory setting, be organized, and have AutoCAD knowledge. Commitment to safe work habits and shop practices is essential. Must be willing to abide by Glimmerglass Festival’s current and potential future CoVid-19 policies, including testing and wearing a mask on campus.



This position runs 4/25/2022 – 8/28/2022. $19.50/Hr. Housing included.
