LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE welcomes applications from boldly creative artistic visionaries with ambition and spark eager to chart the course for this storied West Coast theater company. As a co-equal leader of the company with Laguna Playhouse Managing Director (to be identified shortly following the selection of a new Artistic Director), the Artistic Director will envision an exciting and diverse set of programs that capture the attention of audiences and supporters throughout the greater Orange County area. The Artistic Director will be called upon to rethink how Laguna Playhouse programs plays, musicals, and special presented events, working diligently to reflect and represent the Laguna Beach and surrounding community in all its offerings. Laguna Playhouse’s Artistic Director will take a joyful approach to curating work that is entertaining, uplifting, and takes audiences on rides that are surprising, delightful, and expansive. As a cultural leader in the community, the Artistic Director will revel in creating community dialogue and open up new opportunities for collaborative involvement in Laguna Playhouse’s work. The Artistic Director will have the chance to build upon Laguna Playhouse’s rich history as a community asset and deepen the company’s influence within the greater theater world, strengthening regional and national connections all in service of elevating the breadth and quality of Laguna Playhouse’s myriad of offerings.
