Hello!

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Magic Blueberry Pancakes, written and directed by Kayli Slayden and produced by the Balladeer Theatre Company at The Culture House. We are casting this show from virtual auditions. There will be no in-person audition. Submissions close January 1st.



Synopsis:

Micah is having a hard time accepting her family’s attempts at supporting her in her struggles, and it seems like her older sister, Jess, is the only one who understands. When a big and unexpected change shakes the foundations of her life, Micah must come to terms with the uncomfortable reality of leaning on those around her.



Schedule:

Rehearsals will run from May 12-29 in Overland Park, KS. We will work with cast to schedule rehearsals. There will be two performances at The Culture House Stage and Studio in Overland Park, KS on May 30th and 31st.

There will also be a private performance in Chicago. We will travel on June 5th, have the show on June 6th, and then travel back to Kansas City at June 7th. All travel, lodging, and food is provided for these three days.



ROLES:

Micah- F, 17 years old. High school junior. Moody, struggles to connect with her parents, but gets along with her big sister Jess very well. Snarky, sarcastic, and dry, but has significant depth. A very emotionally intense role.

Oliver- CAST

Jess- CAST

MOM- F, 40s. Traditional mom. Cares deeply about her children and will do anything she can to try to help.

DAD- M, 40s. A normal suburban dad. He tries his best to understand Micah, but doesn’t always know what to say.

ENSEMBLE- Seeking three versatile actors for ensemble scenes with featured lines. Two F needed, one M needed.

All roles will receive a stipend.



The show will be cast by January 18th. You will be notified even if you are not cast.
