Memor NYC, Inc. will present a development reading of Shanghai Sonatas, a new musical with music by Sean (Xiang) Gao, lyrics by Joyce Hill Stoner and book by Alan Goodson. Chongren Fan will direct the by-invitation only development reading on Friday, October 28 at 3PM at Theater 555.

Theatre Communications Grouphas announced the recipients of RECOGNIZE grants as part of the THRIVE! Spinning the Bottle, a new play by James Hindman will receive a private industry reading in New York City on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 5 PM. Presented by Michael Borges and Scott Rehl, in association with CinèTheatrix, and directed by Alan Souza, the reading will feature Dana Brooke, Biko Eisen-Martin, Darius Rose, and Robbie Simpson.

The Henry Hewes Design Awards committee announced that legendary lighting designers Jules Fisher and Jennifer Tipton will each be honored with the Ming Cho Lee Award for Lifetime Achievement in Design, bestowed by the Henry Hewes Design Awards at the 58th annual event on October 24 in a livestream awards ceremony.

The Wonderettes Company, in collaboration with Magic Bean Theatricals, has just announced the commercial release of the Original Cast Album for the all-new version of The Andrews Brothers by Roger Bean, creator of The Marvelous Wonderettes. The album features Jonathan Arana, David Engel, Larry Raben, and Krystle Rose Simmons, with a nine-piece orchestra conducted by Ryan O’Connell.
