Wait Until Dark is a mystery-drama play by Frederick Knott that takes place in 1966 in a Greenwich Village basement apartment. The play is about three con men, Roat, Mike, and Carlino, who are searching for a mysterious doll that contains heroin. The doll ends up in the apartment of Susy Hendrix, a recently blinded woman, who is unaware of its contents. The con men convince Susy that her husband, Sam, is involved in the murder of a woman who was looking for the doll, and the situation becomes increasingly urgent. Susy is resourceful and brave and discovers that her blindness may be her key to escape. However, she and the con men must wait until dark to play out the conclusion.
