The National Theatre of Greece is currently playing The Prince and The Pauper at the Young People's Stage. The show has a closing date set for April 21, 2019.
The Prince and The Pauper is a lively adaptation by Jemma Kennedy of Mark Twain's classic story of confused identities.
Set in a Tudor London, a young street urchin Tom Canty has a chance meeting with the heir to the throne, Prince Edward VI and by pure coincidence they find they look almost identical.
The Prince and The Pauper is a classic story of what happens when two boys swap clothes one afternoon and as a result swap lives as well; Tom Canty is forced into a world of royal intrigue and courtly power, while Edward is cast down to the mercy of blaggards and thieves. At once brilliantly comic, touching and true, this is a fast-paced and rousing adventure with music for all the family.
The show is intended for children six and up.
