Grammy-winner and 2018 Tony Award nominee Renée Fleming is set to open the Fort Wayne Philharmonic's historic 75th Anniversary Season. Flemings will perform at 7:30PM at the Embassy Theatre on October 6, 2018.
Fleming's program for the night includes a wide range of material beginning with Richard Strauss' Four Last Songs. The concert will begin with an overture for the Philharmonic's Anniversary Season by composer Joel Puckett.
Tickets for the event go on sale August 6.
In 2013, President Obama awarded Renée Fleming America's highest honor for an artist, the National Medal of Arts. Winner of the 2013 Grammy Award (her fourth) for Best Classical Vocal Solo, she has sung for momentous occasions from the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony to the Diamond Jubilee Concert for Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. She brought her voice to a vast new audience in 2014, as the first classical artist ever to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
