First Rehearsal: 8/20

Runs: 8/28-9/1

SEEKING:

[MAN 1] CAST 50s – early 60s. Any race/ethnicity. Lyric Baritone with G top. Relatable leading-man type not too far from his rock ‘n’ roll roots. Great comedic timing and even a bit of a goofy side. Handsome and charming.

[MAN 2] CAST 50s – early 60s. Any race/ethnicity. Tenor. More character-y. A super-likable guy with a wild streak. Very funny but still able to be grounded and emotional. A great ‘foil’ for MAN 1.

[WOMAN 1] CAST 50s – early 60s. Any race/ethnicity. Mezzo-soprano. Warm leading lady type with fierce musical theatre chops. Sexy Soccer mom.

[WOMAN 2] CAST 50s – early 60s. Any race/ethnicity. Alto/Mezzo with a strong belt. Wackier perhaps, but with lots of heart. The more outspoken of the two ladies. Very fun to be around.

Opens: 9/8

Closes: 9/15

SEEKING:

DOMINIQUE ST. MARIE - CAST (30-38) A 1970s Romani fortuneteller who passionately treasures her heritage, and her daughter. It is her intelligence, wit, perceptiveness and honesty that make her attractive, more than the sensual gypsy stereotype. Doubles multiple roles. Strong belt.

MICHAEL BOARDMAN - CAST (33-40) Dominique’s pro bono conservative Jewish attorney, corporate, not nerdy, a leading-man with boyish-charm. Skeptical of anything he cannot reason, like fortunetelling, fate, romance and passion. Doubles multiple roles. Baritone.

OLIVIA ST. MARIE - CAST (18+ to play 16) The rebellious, plaintive, fiery, typical teen-age daughter of Dominique, who is embarrassed that Dominique is not a typical mother. Doubles multiple roles. Pop belt.

AGAPTITO HERNANDEZ - CAST (35+) A veteran cop, smart, cynical, dry sense of humor except about himself. Warm and loving when it comes to his wife. Doubles multiple roles. Baritone.

BROOKE MIECK - CAST (28-38) Michael Boardman’s fiancée and a tv network executive. Sharp, classy, driven, pragmatic to a fault, unconsciously funny in her obliviousness to her soullessness. Doubles multiple roles. Second soprano.

BRANDON HUNT - CAST (18+ to play 17) Olivia’s All-American boyfriend; natural, likable, lusty. Doubles multiple roles. Rock voice.

EVA HERNANDEZ - CAST (30+) Officer Hernandez’ saucy, warm-hearted wife, who can undo his cynicism with humor and sincerity. Having trouble conceiving, she is now a mountain of scientific fertility jargon, while still very much a superstitious small town girl. Doubles multiple roles, including gospel evangelist. Low, gutsy, belt.

MALE TRACK - CAST – Doubles multiple roles. Pop vocals.

FEMALE TRACK - CAST – Doubles multiple roles. Pop vocals.

EDMUND DANTES - CAST - male, thirties or forties, legit baritenor, sings up to a full-voiced G. Has a lot of dialog. A powerful presence with the ability to command the stage. MERCEDES - CAST - female, thirties or forties, great legit soprano. High-spirited, thoughtful, and immensely appealing. Has a lot of dialog. Character is in her early twenties at start of show, changes to late thirties by middle of first act. Any ethnicity.

CADEROUSSE/ABBE FARIA - CAST - male, thirties to sixties, baritone. The comic relief. Doubles both parts: the Abbe Faria - fierce, intelligent and a little crazy; and Caderousse - timid, not so intelligent, drinks too much, but good-hearted. Has an Italian accent. Any ethnicity.

CARCONTE - CAST - female, thirties to sixties, belt voice. Married to Caderousse. An intimidating presence. She gets frustrated and angry with Caderousse, but you kind of see her point. Any ethnicity.

DANGLARS - CAST - male, anywhere from thirties to sixties, baritone. The out-and-out villain of the piece. James Bond kind of villain. Caucasian.

FERNAND - CAST - male, thirties or forties, madly in love with Mercedes. Definite tenor. Any ethnicity.

VILLEFORT - CAST - male, forties to sixties, needs a strong legit baritone; the villain with a conscience. Any ethnicity.

ALBERT - CAST - male; early twenties; tenor. Mercedes son. Wide-eyed, overly romantic and a little gullible. Any ethnicity.

EUGENIE - CAST - female, early twenties, legit soprano. Daughter of Danglars; pampered, shallow and vain. Caucasian.

HAYDEE - CAST - female, early twenties, more of a mezzo; belt or legit is fine. Has been through a lot of suffering in her young life and come out on the other side with a spine of steel. Middle Eastern.

MORREL - CAST - male, forties to sixties, baritone or tenor. Doubles four or five different parts; the two main ones: a kindly old ship owner who is fond of Edmund, and a zealous partisan of Napoleon. Any ethnicity.

Her quest is to find a fellow who's the right fit. No aging during the show. Any ethnicity.

DESI/16 dates - male, around the same age as LUCY (there should not be a large age gap). A demanding comedic role, the actor plays seventeen parts.
