MARY BENNET: 20. Finally coming in to her own, she is no longer the plain, boring girl she once was. She has a fire in her now. She is intelligent, curious, and lively, but her family only sees her as a future spinster. She does not suffer fools. She wants to live.
ARHUR DE BOURGH: 25. A studious, unsociable, only child who has never been around women or large families. He is a loner who prefers books to people. He has recently inherited a large estate and has no idea what to do next.
ELIZABETH DARCY: 22, married to Mr. Darcy. Confident, charming, and witty. She makes a fun and surprising lady of the house. She is best friends with her sister Jane.
FITZWILLIAM DARCY: 30. A loving, generous, and smart (if slightly stiff) husband. He is quiet and vigilant and thus sees what others often miss. He knows what being lovelorn is like.
JANE BINGLEY: 24, married to Mr. Bingley. She is 7 months pregnant with her first child and is sweet and optimistic as ever. The kindest heart in the house.
CHARLES BINGLEY: 25. Gracious, happy, and ever focused on the love of his life, Jane. A good friend and always ready with a smile.
LYDIA WICKHAM: 17. Flirtatious, youthful, self-centered. Her marriage to Mr. Wickham is a sham but she will not admit this. She is the person you want to have at your party: energetic, engaging, unstoppable.
ANNE DE BOURGH: 20s. Only daughter of the late Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Lived in her mother’s very large shadow, never having to ask for anything or speak for herself her entire life. Judgmental and impatient, just like her mother.

MONA (late 30s). Fragile and anxious and clinging to the past. Claims that she was chosen by James Dean, who she worships as a deity, to bear his only son. Think Blanche DuBois.
JOANNE (late 30s) A sultry, worldly, and confident trans woman. She is the force of truth in the story. The only woman in the group who has really changed in any way in twenty years.
JOE (18, nonbinary or trans-masculine) The only apparent boy in “The Disciples of James Dean” group. He struggles to reconcile their love for Mona, with his blossoming sexuality and gender identity. (Note: This actor will also play Mona’s son, Jimmy Dean in the final scene.)
SISSY (late 30s) is a woman who has moved away with big dreams of becoming a country singer and ended up back in her tiny hometown. She loves sex and isn’t shy about it, which has always gotten her in a lot of trouble in this conservative town. She is a breast cancer survivor but keep her mastectomy a secret. She has a huge heart and cares deeply about Mona’s son, Jimmy Dean.
JUANITA (60s) is a stoic woman who really helped raise these girls, as she never had children of her own. Her husband, who she won’t have a word said against, died from drink. She clings to Jesus, the Bible, and her faith to see her through. This crumbling store is all she has left in the world.
STELLA MAY (late 30s) is a too-loud, too-fun millionaire dressed to the hilt and brashly bragging on the oil empire built by her husband. She can’t have children but insists that she’s “happy goddammit!” Probably drinks too much.
EDNA LOUISE (late 30s) is a Mexican-American who was only allowed in the store and in the club with the other girls twenty years ago because she was light skinned and could “pass” for white, thus avoiding the Jim Crow Laws against the Mexican population of Texas. She is simple, shy, and has seven kids and a husband she adores.
