Actors are cast on a per show basis and not as part of a repertory company. All performers are signed to an Equity MSUA contract.
Actors of all ethnicities, backgrounds, gender identities, body types, and abilities for all available roles are encouraged to audition.

Please prepare a 32-bar selection (or less than a minute) in a style appropriate to the season’s shows. Be prepared to sing an additional contrasting selection (16-bars), if requested. Bring sheet music, picture/resume and your repertoire book; an accompanist will be provided. Singers may be asked to move/dance. Please plan to have a change of clothes in which to move and dance shoes ready. A combination will be taught.

Excellent, athletic dancers with significant cheerleading and hip-hop dance skills. Extensive cheerleading, gymnastics, tumbling and B-boy/girl, break dancing a plus. Some members of the ensemble will have to be great singers, but singing is not required for all.

[QUEEN IDUNA] 30s - 40s — Queen Iduna is the elegant, strong, and devoted mother of the princesses. Soprano. Featured Ensemble Role.
[KING AGNARR] 30s - 40s — Stern, protective, yet adoring father of two young girls. Movement ability required. Baritone or Bass. Must be 6’ or taller. Featured Ensemble Role.
[BULDA] 30s - 40s — Nurturing, funny, empathetic, and spirited matriarch of the Hidden Folk. Fantastic belt voice and excellent movement/dance skills. Featured Ensemble Role.

[MISTRESS] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), Argentinian, 18 – early 20s. Juan Peron’s Mistress who is pushed out of Peron’s life by his future wife, Eva. The Mistress ponders the rejection in a big number, “Another Suitcase in Another Hall.” Beautiful, period, fragile, vulnerable. Also appears in the ensemble. Powerful contemporary mix voice. *Featured Ensemble Role.
[ENSEMBLE SINGERS & DANCERS] A broad range of all genders and ethnicities, ages 20s to 60s to play a fully featured versatile ensemble that helps define this world. Excellent singing voices in all ranges. All shapes and sizes to play everything from Generals to peasants. Strong dance ability is essential, and tango experience is a plus.

[THE LES CAGELLES/ENSEMBLE – Chantal (the soprano), Monique Dermah, Nicole, Hanna from Hamburg (with a whip), Mercedes, Bitelle, Lo Singh, Odette, Angelique, Phaedra, Clo-Clo] Characters are male (cis, trans or non-binary), any ethnicity, age 20-40. 12 Drag performers who are strong dancers/singers (all vocal ranges) in the La Cage aux Follies stage act. Great comic timing. Tap and acrobatic skills are essential. Unique and specialty tricks are very welcome.
[ST. TROPEZ TOWNSPEOPLE/OTHER ENSEMBLE] Seeking extremely strong singers, all genders, ethnicities, abilities and types, to portray various roles throughout the show, including St. Tropez Townspeople, and patrons of the La Cage aux Folles. Great comic timing. Strong voices, great personalities.

[MARY] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), 20s — 30s. Frankie’s wife; Tough, ‘Seen it All’ Jersey girl. She’s got a killer sense of humor. Doubles as a variety of other roles, including a member of a 60s style girl group. Strong belt is useful. Strong Dancer. High straight tone soprano is also useful but not required. Featured Ensemble Role.
[LORRAINE] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), 20s — 30s. Frankie’s girlfriend; Educated, NOT from Jersey, a real career woman – a young Diane Sawyer; Doubles as a variety of other roles, including a member of a 60s style girl group. Strong high belt useful. High, straight tone soprano is also useful but not required. Strong Dancer. Featured Ensemble Role.
[FRANCINE] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), 20s — 30s. Frankie’s daughter; Named for, doted on and deeply loved by Frankie. She’s a Jersey girl – vulnerable, lost and acts out to make up for lack of attention from her Dad. Doubles as a variety of other roles including a member of a 60s
style girl group. Strong, high belt useful. Belt to high F EXTREMELY useful, high straight tone soprano also useful but not required. Strong Dancer. Featured Ensemble Role.
