Equity actors for roles in ROMEO AND JULIET (See breakdown). All roles will be understudied. Riverside Theatre encourages actors of all races, all ethnicities, and all gender identities, as well as performers of differing abilities to audition for ALL roles.
Please prepare two monologues of no more than 2 minutes each for the role(s) you wish to be considered for. These can be speeches from ROMEO AND JULIET or from another Shakespeare play. Please bring two copies of your headshot and resume to the audition.

ROMEO AND JULIET
Male-identifying, any ethnicity, 40s-60s. Confidant and mentor to Romeo, encouraging in his impulsive protégé more reflection and patience. He marries the couple and attempts to help them in their escape, with fateful consequences.
Female-identifying, any ethnicity, 40s-60s. Caretaker and confidant to Juliet, whom she has raised from infancy. She initially supports the romance with Romeo, but advocates for a marriage to Paris after the death of Tybalt.
Any gender or ethnicity. 20s-30s. Kinsman to the prince and dear friend to Romeo. Enjoys carousing and fighting and is cynical about love. Has a dark streak.
Male-identifying, any ethnicity, 40s-60s. Head of the Capulet household and hater of the Montagues. A passionate man with his affections and his anger. He wants the best for his daughter but is unbending when she questions his will.
Female-identifying, any ethnicity, 30s-50s. Co-head of the Capulet household. She has helped build the Capulet name into the height of culture in Verona, and is willing to fight to keep its status high in future generations. Loves her daughter, but has never been entirely comfortable being a caregiver.
