BREAKDOWN
SEEKING:
[THE BOY]
Male, mid – late 20s. A’s estranged son, slight in stature and build, interesting features, returned home to visit his mother’s death-bed. Non-speaking but pivotal role. *We will also be seeking an understudy for this role.
ADDITIONALLY SEEING ACTORS TO UNDERSTUDY THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
A [Cast – Glenda Jackson.]
mid 70’s - early 90. An autocratic, bitterly proud and fiercely opinionated woman of means, at the threshold of death, slipping in and out of senility - but still a force to be reckoned with.
B [Cast – Laurie Metcalf.]
Early 50’s. A’s caretaker; staring middle age and diminishing options squarely in the eye; by turns acerbic and empathetic, impatient and compassionate.
C [Cast – Alison Pill.]
Mid 20’s. Works for A’s law firm; has arrived to put A’s finances in order. Confident bordering on brash, hopeful and high-spirited, full of all the passionate convictions and contradictions of youth.
