AIN'T MISBEHAVIN, by Murray Horowitz and Richard Maltby jr.

All characters are accomplished performers who are able to hold the stage. Great comedic timing, honest storytellers.

Roles:

ANDRE: 35-50, Black/African descent, male identifying, lyric baritone. An unrepentant party hound. A flirt slick. Devil may care attitude. Great dancer.

ARMELIA: 35-50, Black/African descent, female identifying, soprano. Comedienne, large range, great mover.

CHARLAINE: 30-40, Black/African, descent female identifying, mezzo soprano. Sexy, wide-eyed, optimist. Great dancer.

KEN: 35-50, Black/African descent, male identifying, baritone. Larger than life, charming, great comedic chops, great mover.

NELL: 35-50, Black/African descent, female identifying, mezzo soprano with high belt. Confident, outspoken, sexy. Great mover.

MARY POPPINS

Roles:

Mary Poppins - 25-35, Female identifying. Mezzo soprano with strong top notes, moves well. Dazzling personality. Full of hope. Great diction and composure.

Bert - 30-35, Male identifying. Baritone. Cockney accent. Charming, comedic song and dance man. Great tapper.

George Banks - 40-45, Male identifying. Baritone. Father to Jane and Michael Banks. Banker. Very traditional and upstanding.

Winifred Banks - 30-40, Female identifying. Mezzo soprano. Loving mother and wife to George.

Katie Nanna - 30-35, Jane and Michael’s nanny at the beginning of the show. Overwhelmed and upset, she has absolutely had her fill of the Banks children.

Miss Lark - 30-35, The haughty next-door neighbor of the Banks family who treats her dog, Willoughby, as if her were child.

Admiral Boom/Bank Chairman - 50-55, Male identifying. Baritone. A retired Royal Navy man and neighbor of the Banks family.

Mrs. Brill - 45-55, alto. Female identifying. Housekeeper and cook for the Banks family. Overworked and harassed, she's always complaining that the house is understaffed.

Robertson Ay - 20-25, tenor. Male identifying footman to the Banks family. Struggles with following directions. Solo in Spoonful of Sugar.

Park Keeper - 35-45, tenor. Male identifying. Uniformed and officious, he makes sure no one breaks park regulations.

Neleus - 18-20, tenor. Male identifying. Statue of a young boy posed with a dolphin in the park. Lost his father. Great dancer.

Bird Woman - 50-60, alto. Female identifying. Sells crumbs to passersbys to feed the birds. Sings Feed the Birds. Character voice.

Mrs. Corry - 35-45, mezzo soprano. Female identifying. Owns a magical gingerbread shop. Sings in Supercala. Great mover.

Miss Andrew - 40-50, soprano. Female identifying. George's overbearing and scary nanny. A soprano with an alto belt.

Roles:

Mark Cohen - 20-30, male identifying. Filmmaker and video artist. Knee-deep in his own soul-searching, Mark is the typical young artist. Vocal range top: G#4; Vocal range bottom: C3

Roger Davis - 20-25, male identifying. A struggling musician. Vocal range top: A4; Vocal range bottom: F#2

Tom Collins - 25-25, male identifying. A computer genius and liberal professor. He is a nurturer with a smooth and relaxed disposition. Vocal range top: A4; Vocal range bottom: F#2

Benjamin Coffin III - 25-35, male identifying. The landlord of Mark and Roger’s apartment building. Traded in his personal morals for power and wealth. Vocal range top: F#4; Vocal range bottom: D3

Joanne Jefferson - 25-35, female identifying. A public interest lawyer and headstrong lesbian. She is smart and purposeful in all her decisions. Carries on a tumultuous relationship with Maureen. Vocal range top: E5; Vocal range bottom: G3

Angel Dumott Schunard - 20-30, non-female identifying. Vivacious street drummer and drag queen. Incredible gift of dance and a magnetic personality. Becomes romantically involved with Tom. Vocal range top: D5; Vocal range bottom: C3

Mimi Marquez - 20-25, female identifying dancer. Lives in the same building as the loft. Vocal range top: E5; Vocal range bottom: F#3

Maureen Johnson - 20-25, female identifying. Zany performance artist. She has recently dumped Mark for Joanne. Vocal range top: F5; Vocal range bottom: G3
