SYNOPSIS: Detroit, 1949. Welcome to Paradise Club, a jazz joint that’s seen better days. Trumpet-playing owner Blue hears the promise of city developers and the chance to outrun his demons. But if he sells, where will that leave his house band or his best girl, who has dreams of her own? So when hardboiled widow Silver sashays into Paradise looking for some business and some pleasure, this makeshift family finds themselves on different sides of the fight for Paradise. From Studio favorite Dominique Morisseau (Pipeline, Skeleton Crew), a music-filled play about community, resilience, and finding your own music.
