BREAKDOWN

THE WOLVES
(by Sarah DeLappe, director Eric Ort)
First rehearsal: September 12, 2017
Runs: October 5-November 5, 2017

Seeking:

#11 - Female, 17. Midfield. Brainy, morbid, budding elitist, thoughtful.

#25 - Female, 17. Defense, Captain. Classic (ex)coach’s daughter, composed, tries hard, occasionally self important. Character requires a “buzz cut.” Actor must be willing to have close-cropped hair and maintain that look through the run.

#13 - Female, 16. Midfield. Stoner, older pot dealer brother, into her wackiness, a cut up.

#46 - Female, 16. Bench. New girl. Awkward, different, just wants to fit in, out of place, guileless.

#2 - Female, 16. Defense. Innocent, unlucky, kind, skinny.

#7 - Female, Almost 17. Striker. Too cool for school. Sarcastic, “fuck”, thick eyeliner, self-assured and guarded.

#14 - Female, 16. Midfield. #7’s insecure sidekick. Just switched to contacts, trying a little too hard.

#8 - Female, 16. Defense. Childlike and determined to stay that way. Indifferent to pressure.

#00 - Female, 17 Goalie. Intense performance anxiety, perfectionist, high achiever, focused.

SOCCER MOM - Female, 30-50.

______________

CONSTELLATIONS
(by Nick Payne, director Rob Ruggiero)
First rehearsal: December 19, 2017
Runs: January 18-February 18, 2018

Seeking:

ROLAND: Male. 25-40. Any ethnicity. A charming, laid-back beekeeper; warm and open, with a good sense of humor, earthy and likable.

MARIANNE: Female. 25-40. Any ethnicity. A fiercely intelligent scientist dealing with a terminal illness; though she’s a serious professional working in the top 1% of her field, she has a quirky, head-in-the clouds quality; friendly, warm, and quick-witted, comedic chops.
_______________

THE LEGEND OF GEORGINA MCBRIDE
(by Matthew Lopez, director Rob Ruggiero)
First rehearsal: February 20, 2018
Runs: March 15-April 15, 2018

Seeking:

CASEY/GEORGIA MCBRIDE: Male, 20s. White. Southern. Casey: a charismatic and good-looking small town high school football star turned Elvis impersonator; a loyal, loving husband who dreams big, if not practically; lived a charmed life until now, and though he’'s never dumb, he hasn’'t yet had to grow up and take responsibility for his life/family. Georgia: a drag queen with Elvis, country, and rock ‘'n' roll roots, but ultimately a wholly original creation and a force of nature; sexy, flirtatious, and fierce.

JO: Female, 20s. Black. Southern; Casey’'s wife; a hard-headed woman married to a soft-hearted man; a realist who’'s prone to being fatalistic; grounds her husband while he enables her to breathe and dream; tough without being bitchy; works hard in a service job and it'’s taken a toll run down; insecure about her appearance; she is perhaps not the striking, sexy girl she once was, but those qualities are just below the surface.

REXY/JASON/HELVETICA: Male 20s/30s. Any Ethnicity. Rexy: bitchy in a mean way, but very funny; feisty and sharp-tongued with a dark past; a fairly trashy gal who fancies herself the most sophisticated in the room; thrives on conflict and is a bit of a hot mess, but she has great respect for the history and art of drag. Jason: the sweet best friend of Jo and Casey. Helvetica: a mellow, confident, unflappable drag queen.

EDDIE/DEE DEE DUMB: Male,50s/60s. Any Ethnicity. Eddie: the easily flustered, hot-headed owner of a struggling dive bar; a bit rough around the edges; still longing for the dimly remembered glory days of high school; later in the play, he becomes an amateur showman who loves the spotlight; cousin to Tracey. Dee Dee: a vapid and silly and empty-headed drag queen.
_______________

THE INVISIBLE HAND
(by Ayed Ahktar, director TBA)
First rehearsal: April 24, 2018
Runs: May 17-June 24, 2018

Seeking:

BASHIR: Male, 20-35. South Asian, London- born. Smart, mercurial, quick to love and anger. Still a lovable naivete about him despite capacity for real menace.

DAR: Male, 20-29. From rural Pakistani. Open-hearted, trusting, pliable. Speaks English with a thick accent.

NICK: Male, 30-49. A WASP. Brilliant. An investment banker with extensive consulting experience. A family man, but not in the least sentimental. Vital, an alpha.

IMAM SALEEM: Male, 40-59. Pakistani- born. Very educated. A magnetic leader with charisma to burn. An extraordinary storyteller.
______________

HAND TO GOD
(by Robert Askins, director TBA)
First rehearsal: June 26, 2018
Runs: July 19-August 26, 2018

Seeking:

JESSICA: Female, 17. Any ethnicity. A complicated young woman trapped in a small town with small ideas; smart, though somewhat introverted; does not suffer fools gladly.

TIMOTHY: Male, 17. Any ethnicity. A troubled kid, caught in survival mode at having to negotiate his dysfunctional family; he protects his fragility by forgoing any impulse control; probably in “special classes” because of his behavior problems.

PASTOR GREG: Male, 45-50. Any ethnicity. Tries valiantly to fulfill his duties as the shepherd of his flock; seemingly supportive; underneath, however, it is clear that his altruism is fueled by needy loneliness; he has his meltdown point, and, out of nowhere, violence can flare up.

JASON: Male, 17. Any ethnicity. Seemingly mild-mannered and polite; retiring, inarticulate, and shy; has an alter-ego hand puppet who is extremely aggressive, foul-mouthed, shameless, and highly articulate. Expert puppetry skills and character voices required.

MARGERY: Female, 40-49. Any ethnicity. Jason'’s mother; a jittery woman trying desperately to keep her family and life together after the death of her husband; has a warm and passionate nature, but seems like a powder keg about to explode, and when it does, an aggressive sexuality comes flooding out.
