BREAKDOWN
SEEKING:
STATION MASTER (Male, 40s-60s, Any Ethnicity) The lead narrator and predominant voice of the town as he heads the train station around which the town revolves. Sings.
MOTHER (Female, 30s, Any Ethnicity) Family crisis propels her to evolve from a traditional mother to a strong and independent woman. Loving but sometimes stern. A writer. A helper. Committed to bringing her husband home. Plays piano and sings.
FATHER (Male, 30s-40s, Any Ethnicity) A good, loving father. Works long hours, but when he is home, he is present for his kids. A banker. Also: Russian Immigrant. When not speaking, he is sleeping and reading. Plays the clarinet or other reed instrument. Sings. Ability to do a Russian accent a plus.
DR. MULLEN (Female, 50s-60s, Any Ethnicity) The town doctor. Very well educated. Stoic New Englander. Also: Mrs. Ransome. Sings.
MRS. GUARINO (Female, 30s-40s, Italian heritage, White) She runs the bakery in town. Married to Mr. Guarino, the engineer. Also: Mrs. Perks & Ruth. Has an Italian accent. Plays the violin or other string instrument. Sings.
MR. GUARINO (Male, 30s-40s, Italian heritage, White) Italian immigrant. Proud engineer on the railway. Hard working. Has an Italian accent. Also: District Superintendent, Hare, Government Man #2, Mover #2. Sings.
OLD GENTLEMAN (Male, 60s-70s, Any Ethnicity) President of the railway. Very wealthy. Kind. Generous. Also Nigel, the butler. Sings.
