Breakdown

THE MORINI STRAD by Willy Holtzman.
Erica is a former child prodigy who accidentally scratches her priceless violin. Brian, a struggling violin restorer , is brought in to repair it. The two bond over the priceless Strad, but clash over their artistic philosophies and ownership of the instrument. Erica becomes terminally ill and leaves ownership of the Strad up to Brian. On the eve of Erica’s death, the violin is stolen.

seeking:

Erica
To play 70s – former child prodigy violinist, larger than life, prickly, imperious. She is an eccentric, sometime brittle and difficult, other time bristling with passion. Now a recluse, she rarely leaves her apartment.

Brian
40s, a violin maker -- a craftsman who rises to artistry -- who, to pay the bills, also repairs violins, working class.
