SYNOPSIS: In the buttoned up 1950s an ex GI returned from a procedure in Denmark as Christine Jorgensen, America's first ransgender celebrity and performer. As timely as it is entertaining, THE CHRISTINE
JORGENSEN SHOW is a tuneful re-telling of Jorgensen's remarkable true story. With the help of Myles Bell, a dynamic song-and-dance man, Christine developed a famous nightclub act that transformed her from headline to headliner.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

CHRISTINE JORGENSEN - (Transgender Woman - mid/late 20s) an ex-GI turned cabaret star of the 50s and 60s after her pioneering sex reassignment surgery. At one time the most-written-about woman in the world. Alongside her music director and mentor Myles Bell, Christine finds her voice as a woman through song.
MYLES BELL (THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST) - (Cisgender male, 40s-50s) Christine's mentor and music director. He helps her find her voice as a performer.
Please prepare one of the provided sides AND either a 32-bar cut of a light and breezy tune, up-tempo or ballad of your choice, from the 1950s OR you may opt instead to sing I Want to Be Happy from No, No, Nanette (accompaniment and sheet music provided).
