Equity actors and actors who sing for the 2014-15 Season.

Preparation
Prepare either:

1) a brief song; OR
2) a brief monologue; OR
2) a very brief monologue and 16 bars of a song.

Total audition time should not exceed 3 minutes.

If singing, bring sheet music; accompanist provided.

Bring 1 copy of picture/resume, stapled together.

Walter Ware III, Resident Casting Director & Artistic Coordinator, is expected to attend the audition.

· A monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Fenwick - late 20s (Male) - Trouble maker of the group. Always crass and forward with women, out of insecurity. Tenor.

Billy - late 20s (Male) - Knows that his friends are all leading a carefree life. Pursuing his masters, as he is the one who got out of it early. Tenor.

Eddie - late 20s (Male) - Getting his masters. The one who has pulled himself away from the group to get ahead. Tenor.

Shrevie - late 20s (Male) - Married to Beth. Always defending his marriage to his friends. Transitioning into being a serious adult as his friends continue living their carefree lives but still frustrated in his marriage. Tenor.

Modell - late 20s (Male) - The intellect of the bunch. Never really says what he means but gets others to make decisions for him. Tenor.

Barbara - late 20s (Female) - Dating Billy. Becomes pregnant after they were extremely careful. She is not adventurous, and has always wanted to lead a normal simple life. Pop/rock voice with belt.

Beth - late 20s (Female) - Married to Shrevie. Plain looking with not a great sense of style. Extremely frustrated with her marriage to Shrevie and is always trying to justify it. Pop/rock voice with belt.

Elyse - late 20s (Female) - Engaged to Eddie. Pop/rock voice with belt.

Ensemble Singers (M/F). Characters are 20s-40s, any ethnicity. Various characters at the diner, the dance, etc. Should also have a sense of late 1950s music and move well. Many will also cover principal roles.

JONAH - 20s – Charlie’s boyfriend, a grocery delivery man who works for his rich father's company. Funny ingénue male. Baritenor with pop and groove instincts and a great falsetto, Jason Mraz meets Ben Folds - sings to a G.

Clifford Bradshaw – 20s/30s - An American writer traveling through Berlin. Baritone

Fräulein Schneider – 40s/50s - An older woman who runs the boarding house that Cliff and Sally live in. Alto.

Herr Schultz – 40s/50s - An elderly Jewish fruit shop owner who falls in love with Fraulein Schneider. Tenor.

Ernst Ludwig – 20s/30s - A German man who befriends Cliff when he arrives in Berlin, later revealed to be a Nazi.

Fräulein Kost – 20s/30s - A prostitute who rents among other things in Fraulein Schneider's boarding house. Mezzo.

Kit Kat Girls - Double as other roles. All must sing and dance well.
