SEEKING
SHOWTUNES concert productions involve a
short and intense rehearsal and performance
timeframe, and strong singers/actors are
required. Actors must be available for all
rehearsals and performances. SHOWTUNES is
based in Seattle, WA and casts locally.
PREPARATION
Prepare one verse and chorus of a musical
theater song that shows off your range and
acting ability. Be prepared with additional
choices since you may be asked to sing another
song. Sheet music must be in the correct key.

Rehearsals are Oct 9-13 and Oct 18-21 6-
10pm from 6-10pm (in the Bullitt at ACT
Theatre), as well as Saturday, Oct 22 from 1-
6pm (in the Allen Theatre at ACT Theatre).
Performances are Saturday, October 22nd at
8pm and Sunday, October 23rd at 2pm and
7:30pm in the Allen Theatre at ACT Theatre.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The
producer will run all aspects of this audition.
Performers of all ethnic and racial
backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

BREAKDOWN
The plot of SHENANDOAH takes places in Confederate Virginia in the 1860s. The central plot
surrounds the Anderson family, but the politics and influence of race relations in the state are not
ignored.
The role of Charlie Anderson is cast.

JENNY ANDERSON - a nineteen-year-old daughter, attractive, feminine, who competes with her
brothers as equally as with her suitor
SAM - Jenny's suitor and later husband, upstanding and shy young Confederate soldier
ANNE ANDERSON - wife of James, beautiful and mature, twenty-six years old
JAMES ANDERSON - second oldest son, twenty-six, very much his father's son, strong, handsome,
and argumentative
JACOB ANDERSON - twenty-eight, oldest son very serious and devoted to his father
NATHAN ANDERSON - twenty-four-year-old son
HENRY ANDERSON - seventeen year-old son (POSSIBLE INTERN)
