Pueblo Boy – Latino Male. A 10 – 13 year old town crier who brings much needed but often ignored news and information to the people of Alta California, such as Mexico’s surrender in Mexican-American War, the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe and the start of the Gold Rush. Even when he warns the people that they are going to be epically screwed if they do not listen to what he has to say, he is met only with “Shhhhhhhhh!” from the Californios.

Amir – Male, 40’s. Born to Pakistani, traditionally Muslim parents, Amir has spent much of his life fighting against the traditions and negative stigmas attached to Islam. Having entered his law firm under ethnically false pretenses, his true identity is called into question, when an article in the New York Times infers that he is supporting and representing an Imam (Islamic holy man) at a hearing where the Imam is on trial for soliciting donations for terrorism.
Emily – Female, 30’s. Caucasian. Amir’s lovely wife. An artist who is infatuated with Islam and who’s artistic vision gained clarity and maturity when she started using Muslim influences in her art. Emily is on the verge of being part of an art instillation at The Whitney museum, curated by Isaac. Determined to reintroduce Amir to an appreciation for his Islamic roots.
Abe – Male, early 20’s. South-Asian Origin. Amir’s vibrant and endearing cousin. Born Hussein Malik, Abe Jensen is an activist for social justice for the Muslim community. Abe is a supporter of the Imam and believes that he was soliciting donations to better the newly opened, socially progressive mosque, not for terrorism.
Isaac – Male, 40’s. A smart and attractive curator at the Whitney Museum. In many ways, Isaac is to Judaism, what Amir is to Islam. Isaac happily and guiltlessly eats pork and lobster, and believes that every religion has its own idiosyncrasies that make them unique, but don’t need to necessarily be taken as the gospel.
Jory – Female, mid to late 30’s. African-American. Commanding and forthright, almost masculine. Married to Isaac. Unbeknownst to Amir, Jory has recently been made a partner at the law firm where they both work. Has little patience for lies and pettiness and challenges Isaac at every turn.

Olivia – Female. Late 30’s to mid 40’s. Any ethnicity. Smart, sexy, outwardly strong, but covering some fragility. Ethan – Male. Late 20’s. Caucasian. Very charismatic and sexy. A brash presence and fast talker who is used to being the center of attention. With the success of his book, Sex with Strangers, Ethan has found notoriety, but now wants to be taken seriously in his profession.
