Bring photo/resume. For Singing roles, please prepare a song (min. 32 bars) of a song in the style of the show. Sides will be available at the audition for non-singing roles.

BREAKDOWN
This is the story of Dion, of Dion and the Belmonts. Time 1958-1968.
Dion DeMucci:
Male; Late Teens thru Early 20s: A tough Italian American with Star Quality from the Bronx. Plays Dion from early years of success, through herion addiction and recovery. A great 50’s doowop and thythm singer, great versatile range. Playing guitar is a plus.
Johnny Angel:
Male, Any Age between late 30’s and early 60’s; Any Race or Ethnicity. The Guardian Angel presence throughout Dion’s Life. Dion’s Conscience -- Tough, Funny; Strong singer.
Pat:
Male, late 40’s-late 50’s. Dion’s Bronx Italian-American Father; a former Vaudevillian Performer himself, a Stage Father and pushes his son’s Career; A bit brusk but he has a Heart of Gold; Good comic timing, sense of Humour.; Good Character Singing Voice
Frances:
Female, late 40’s-late 50’s. Dion’s Bronx Italian-American Mother; Like most Bronx Italian Mothers, she is the force that holds her family together; Good Comic Timing, and Good Actress; Non-Singing role.
Bob Schwartz:
Male, Age: 50’s. 1950’s Record Company Executive; Jewish; Good Comic Timing. He is the Brains of the Outfit -- the Brother of Gene -- and they work together in the Music Industry. Always hustling. Non-Singing role.
Gene Schwartz:
Male, Age: 50’s. 1950’s Record Company Executive; Jewish; Good Comic Timing. He is a little Slow -- the Brother of Bob -- and they work together in the Music Industry. Always hustling. Non-Singing role.
Susan:
Female, Age: 20’s. A Country Girl from Vermont who moves to the Bronx A pure, simple and sweet Girl of Irish-American Background -- Smart, Stoic and Strong; The Love of Dion’s Life, and his Support System throughout it all; Strong Singer.
Willie Green
Male. late 30’s – early 60’s. Black. Strong Rhythm and Blues singer. Playing guitar a plus
Monsignor Pernicone:
Male, 50’s; any ethnicity. The Neighborhood Priest, who offers Guidance to Dion; Authoritative & Comforting; A true Man of the Cloth; Good Actor; Non-Singing Role.
Female Angel
Female, 20’s-30’s; any ethnicity. An Angelic Presence, Strong Singer
