Equity actors for roles in RICHARD III (see breakdown). Local actors are encouraged to audition.
Please prepare one Shakespearean monologue or soliloquy, preferably in verse and no more than 3 minutes in length, which shows a mastery of scansion, classical performance, and clarity of text. Bring headshot/resume stapled together. Be prepared to stay and read sides if asked.

LADY ANNE - (Female) Widow to a murdered husband, she's strong-willed, but desperate, and in grave danger.
RIVERS - (Male) Rivers' family married into royalty and he's trying to look the part, but he's clearly out of his element.
KING EDWARD IV / LORD MAYOR - (Male) King Edward's health is failing, and he wants to be remembered as a good king. Doubles as Lord Mayor, a gullible, out-of-touch politician.
DUCHESS OF YORK - (Female) Richard's mother, she's disgusted by what her son has become, but afraid of what he might do next.
PRINCE EDWARD - (Character is male) In his early teens, he's next in line for the throne. Distrusting of Richard.
YOUNG YORK - (Character is Male) Prince Edward's younger brother, he's playful and trusting.
YOUNG ELIZABETH / CITIZEN 2 - (Female) Young Elizabeth is the last child of King Edward, she's a young woman in this very dangerous world of self-serving men. Doubles as CITIZEN 2, a working-class woman, afraid for her country's future.
RICHMOND - (Male) Richmond is a true warrior king in the making. He's determined to face Richard on the battlefield, take the crown, and become the king England deserves.
CLARENCE / CITIZEN 1 / OXFORD - (Male) Clarence is Richard's brother. Trusting, wholesome, and a former war hero. Citizen 1 is a working-class everyman, weary of civil unrest. Oxford is a lord, navigating the dangers of Richard's reign.
CATESBY - (Male or Female) Catesby is one of Richard's lackeys, willing to do anything for a bit of coin.
RATCLIFFE - (Male or Female) Ratcliffe and Catesby are two peas in a pod. No deed is too dirty for these two.
HASTINGS - (Male) Hastings is a playboy who takes his position for granted.
STANLEY - (Male) Stanley knows which way the wind is blowing, and sees Richard for the threat he is.
RICHARD OF GLOUCESTER - CAST - (Male) Deformed inside and out, Richard will stop at nothing to gain ultimate power.
BUCKINGHAM - CAST - (Male) Buckingham is Richard's right hand man, helping him claw and climb his way to the throne.
QUEEN ELIZABETH - CAST - (Female) Elizabeth is new to the royal scene, her husband is deathly ill, and her enemies lurk around every corner.
QUEEN MARGARET - CAST - (Female) Margaret has had everything taken from her, and has been waiting for her revenge.
