Reagle Music Theatre is a company that values education and provides professional, high-quality productions that feature local and Broadway talents, both on stage and off. We aim to create an atmosphere of mutual learning where all artists can benefit, no matter where they are in their careers. While RMT has prided itself in the value we provide to all artists, RMT has not previously been equipped to pay all of its non-union performers. However, in accordance with our new mission, we are proudly taking strides to pay all non-union performers small stipends starting at $250. This is a small but crucial step toward our goal of creating a more equitable and inclusive workplace environment.
Please prepare a brief song in the style of the show or from the show itself that showcases your vocal and acting skills. If you would like to be considered for more than one show this season, please prepare two brief contrasting songs in the style of the shows. Please bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. Callbacks (including a possible dance call) for each show will be held at a future date should we need to see more of you.

RMT has limited housing so we encourage local performers with housing and means of transportation to audition. However, we encourage artists to reach out if compensation, housing, or transportation is a barrier to auditioning.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

The audition room can accommodate no more than 75 individuals at a time.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS:
In line with Federal law, CDC guidelines and in consultation with each of the theatrical unions, in order to help keep everyone safe, this production will require everyone to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a requirement to attend in-person callbacks or begin in-person rehearsals. Individuals may obtain any FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccination, which are all currently widely available and free of charge. If you have not yet been vaccinated, or do not yet have a plan in place for your vaccine, please keep in mind that, per the CDC, you are only considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks following your final dose. Please note that we will be asking individuals to show their vaccination cards in order to be physically present. In order to audition in person at callbacks, you must show FULL PROOF OF VACCINATION (14 days after receiving your final dose). We also are strongly encouraging all candidates to receive a booster shot if and when eligible.

Seeking:
Laurey (Female-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) Innocent at times and stubborn at others, she is a fiercely independent young woman who questions social expectations. She lives with her Aunt Eller on a ranch and is in love with Curly, though she may not admit it. Range C4 – A5
Curly McLain (Male-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) He is the most handsome cowboy in all the county —and he knows it. Hailing himself as the best bronc buster, he has a confident swagger. He is in love with Laurey but refuses to admit it. He also doesn’t quite understand why she hasn’t fallen for him yet. Range C3 - F#4
Aunt Eller (Female-identifying, 40-65, any ethnicity) The proprietress of her family’s farm, Aunt Eller is a respected authority within the community. She is friendly and good-humored but does not suffer foolishness. She watches over the town and a ranch with her niece, Laurey and a hired hand, Jud. She sees the good in everyone. Range G3-F5
Will Parker (Male-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) Charming and goofily thick-headed, Will is a prize-winning steer roper who just got back from the Kansas City Fair. Despite his poor judgment and comic inability to handle money, Will manages – somehow – to win Ado Annie’s hand. An excellent dancer. Being able to perform rope tricks is a plus. Range D#3-F4
Jud Fry (Male-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) Described as dark and growly by others, Jud takes care of the ranch Laurey and Aunt Eller live on. Jud does not fit in with the society he lives with and he is seen by most as an outsider. Lonely and misunderstood, Jud is desperate for connection, making his desire for Laurey both heartbreaking and potentially dangerous. Range D3-C#4
Ado Annie (Female-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) She is a vivacious, playful, and open-hearted woman who “Can’t Say No” to anyone. Her heart is always in the right place, but she isn’t always the best judge of character. A comic, romantic lead, she is wooed by Ali Hakim, but deep down she feels a connection to Will parker. Has excellent comedic skills. G3-F5
Ali Hakim (Male-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) Traveling peddler who says he’s from Persia (present day Iran). Though we aren’t sure how much of what he says we can believe. He, like Jud, is an outsider to this community but not feared by most. He is an opportunist, a shrewd businessman, and a bit of a player. He pursues Ado Annie and Gertie Cummings. Range F3-D5
Gertie Cummings (Female-identifying, 18-35, any ethnicity) From the next town over, she has eyes on Curly and isn’t waiting around for Laurey to say no to him. She has a unique laugh. Speaking Role.
Andrew Carnes (Male-identifying, 40-65, any ethnicity) As the local judge of the town, he is very protective of his daughter, Ado Annie. He doesn’t want Will Parker to marry her because he believes the cowboy’s life to be risky and unreliable. To prove this isn’t true he asks for Will to maintain $50 in order to have his daughter’s hand in marriage. Range F3-F4
Dream Curly (Male-identifying, 16-35, any ethnicity) He represents Curly in Laurey’s dream. An excellent ballet dancer with strong partnering skills. May be doubled as another character or in the ensemble.
Dream Laurey (Female-identifying, 16-35, any ethnicity) She represents Laurey in her own dream. An excellent ballet dancer with strong partnering skills. May be doubled as another character or in the ensemble.
Ensemble: (all genders, 16 – 70, any ethnicity) The ensemble will play many featured roles throughout the show. Excellent singers and dancers with dynamic personalities. Those performing in the Dream Ballet must be excellent ballet dancers; strong partnering skills is a plus.

Seeking:
Ariel (Female-identifying, 18-25, any ethnicity) A mermaid and King Triton’s youngest daughter, she is our heroine who longs to be human. Ariel can be hardheaded and naïve at times, but she is always kind-hearted. Range Bb3-Eb5
Prince Eric (Male-identifying, 20-30, any ethnicity) An adventurous, handsome (human) prince who captures Ariel's heart. After Ariel saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more. Range B3-D5
Sebastian (Male-identifying, 30-45, Black/African Diaspora) A crab, musical virtuoso, and advisor to King Triton. He is constantly distraught from keeping Ariel safe from all the dangers that exist in and above the water. Despite his paranoia, he can't bring himself to stand in Ariel's way. Range A3-D5
Flounder (Male or Female-identifying, 16-25, any ethnicity) Ariel's sincere and sensitive best friend who is loyal to the end. This spunky fish is often cautious and fearful of the dangers that lurk in and above the water. Range G3-Db5
King Triton (Male-identifying, 35-60, any ethnicity) King of the Sea and father to Ariel and the Mersisters. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a harried single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. A strong leader who also shows the tenderness of a parent. Range Ab2-F4
The Mersisters – Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Atina, Adella, Allana (Female-identifying, 16-30, any ethnicity) Ariel's siblings who are full of personality and sass. Must be excellent singers and movers. Range G3-G5
Ursula (Female-identifying, 35-50, any ethnicity)
She is the manipulative sea witch who tries to overthrow King Triton. She is cunning and devious and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Range F3-C#5
Flotsam and Jetsam (Male-identifying, 20-40, any ethnicity) Ursula's slippery spies. These electric eels are sinister and sneaky. Range C3-C5
Scuttle (Male-identifying, 25-40, any ethnicity) The know-it-all seagull who serves as Ariel's expert on humans. He is funny and eccentric. off-beat. Must have great comedic timing and be a great mover. Range B3-E5
Grimsby (Male-identifying, 35-60, any ethnicity) Prince Eric's prim and proper guardian. He is rigid in personality and constantly trying to guide Prince Eric towards the throne and marriage. Range E4-C5
Chef Louis (Male-identifying, 30-50, any ethnicity) The over-the-top head chef in the palace. He is always wild and frenetic. This is an excellent featured role for a comedic performer. Range A3-C5.
Ensemble: (all genders, 16-45, any ethnicity) The ensemble will play many featured roles throughout the show including creatures under the sea, seagulls, sailors, and palace servants. All must be excellent singers and dancers with dynamic personalities.
