Breakdown
Seeking:
David Carver:
Late 30s – Early 40’s. Open Ethnicity. Handsome. Charming. Very likeable. Tough, but so likeable you can’t tell. Sexy. Has stature and a great smile. Physically fit, but seems effortless. Looks great in a suit. Comfortable in his own skin. Has a secret, but no one would ever know it. Smart, liberal, compassionate, politician running for his second term on the New York City Council. When he walks in the room he’s the guy everyone falls in love with.
Shed Walker:
Late 30s – Early 40’s. Open Ethnicity. Sweet. Funny. Could be a little goofy. Poet. Deep. Emotional. The guy who’s happy to not be in the spot light. But when you get to know him he’s the one you want on your side, or as your best friend. Sex appeal grows on you, not obvious when he walks in the room. Devoted. Loyal. If he were a dog he’d be a golden retriever. David’s best friend and speech writer/policy guy.
Gemma Carver:
19 – 25. Chinese. Must play a totally believable 20 year-old. Smart. Tough. Medium build. Not the beauty queen or the princess. Well educated, but doesn’t really need to try. If she were a cartoon character she would be in animé, wielding two very sharp weapons. Broken on the inside, but you can’t see it because the exterior is so tough. Has the ability to tap into that softer side, eventually, but you have to find the way in. Speaking Cantonese a plus. Not required. No accent required. David’s half-sister. They have the same father, but Gemma’s mother was Chinese. Gemma grew up in Hong Kong but has been attending school at Stanford and speaks English very well.
