SEEKING

For the World Premiere production in Chicago at Oriental Theatre, followed by a Broadway production, Seeking Equity Singer/Dancers and Dancer/Singers for the ensemble. See breakdown for details.

PREPARATION

For DAVID MORSE/ALFREDO, MALE SINGER SWING, and FEMALE SINGER/DANCER SWING: Prepare to sing 16 bars of a song showing operatic style. For FEMALE DANCER WHO SINGS and MALE DANCER WHO SINGS: Prepare to sing a pop/rock song showing range (No musical theatre, please). Bring sheet music for the piano accompanist. Bring your book of songs. Bring a photo/resume stapled together.

BREAKDOWN

[DAVID MORSE/ALFREDO]
Male, 20s — 30s, African-American. The grandson of Mr. Morse, he is eager, creative, and smart. He has come up with a daring plan to save his grandfather's company by retooling it to build cruise ships for the Hawaiian Islands. Also has a feature as an opera singer playing ALFREDO in a “La Traviata” sequence. Must have a glorious high tenor operatic voice and also the ability to sing in the pop/rock style. Strong movement ability. ENSEMBLE

[FEMALE DANCER WHO SINGS]
Female, 20s – 30s, non-Caucasian. Beautiful and sexy, with a great physique. Strong technical dancer. Strong pop/rock singer. ENSEMBLE

[MALE DANCER WHO SINGS]
Male, 20s – 30s, non-Caucasian. Handsome and sexy, with a great physique. Strong technical dancer. Strong pop/rock singer. ENSEMBLE

[MALE SINGER SWING]
Male, 30 – 50, African-American. To understudy male ensemble members and the principal role of JAMES MORSE (A cagey self-made industrial tycoon who owns a large ship-building company. The loss of Naval contracts has endangered his business, and made it vulnerable to a takeover by Edward Lewis and Philip Stuckey. But he is determined to fight back to keep his employees working). Strong tenor pop/rock singer. Also must have an operatic sound to understudy the featured ensemble track of ALFREDO in a “La Traviata” sequence. Strong movement ability. ENSEMBLE

[FEMALE SINGER/DANCER SWING]
Female, 20s – 30s, any ethnicity. To understudy female ensemble members. Beautiful and sexy, with a great physique. Strong technical dancer. Strong soprano pop/rock singer. Also must have an operatic sound to understudy the featured ensemble track of VIOLETTA in a “La Traviata” sequence. ENSEMBLE
