Lyman Wyeth: (mid 50s to late 60s) sturdy, described as oak-like, a former movie star, an aging matinee idol who made a name for himself doing a lot of Westerns in Hollywood, kind of a younger Ronald Reagan.
Polly Wyeth: (50s to late 60s) Lyman’s wife. Elegant, vital, smart and funny. A woman of strength and courage. An expert at the art of witty repartee. Formerly a Hollywood screenwriter before becoming a politician's wife. While she can be cold, she is deeply devoted to the preservation of her family. She is quick, witty and fierce. She oscillates between affection and aggression and is tough as nails. She is struggling to keep both her world and herself from crumbling beneath her and her family. Similar in look and energy to Nancy Reagan.
Brooke Wyeth: (mid 30's to early 40's) Polly and Lyman’s daughter, an enlightened artist who is recovering from prolonged writer’s block and a nervous breakdown. Easy with humor, Brooke also wields an assassin’s knife when cornered. Has a deep reserve of emotion. Attractive yet dry.
