This is the first multilingual production of Our Town that the Wilder estate has ever authorized.
For the character of George, actors who are proficient in Creole are especially encouraged to submit.
For the characters of Emily and Stage Manager, actors who are proficient in Spanish are especially encouraged to submit

Seeking
STAGE MANAGER:
Any gender, any age, preferably bilingual Spanish/English
Omniscient narrator, exercises control over the action of the play. At times assumes other roles, such as a druggist, a minister and an older woman. Interacts with both audience and actors, as he/she participates in the narrative while also serving as a commentator.
GEORGE GIBBS:
Male, early 20’s, bilingual Creole/English
A star baseball player in high school, and later a farmer. Charismatic and sometimes cocky. In love with Emily Webb. Speaks Creole with his mother and sister, and English with his father and the rest of Grover’s Corners.
EMILY WEBB:
Female, early 20’s, bilingual Spanish/English
Bright, precocious student and model daughter. We follow her from early teenage years, through her wedding, to her premature death. Speaks Spanish at home and English to the rest of Grover's Corners.

MRS. GIBBS : Female, 38-55 years, bilingual Creole/English
George’s Mother. Dreams of traveling to Paris, but never does. Native Creole speaker, she speaks it with her kids, but speaks English (with an accent) to her husband and the rest of Grover's Corners.
