Girl:
Female, 22-35. Direct, intelligent, no nonsense and witty. Has had to work hard at life but doesn’t ask for sympathy. Must play piano and sing extremely well. Must be able to perform with a pronounced Czech (Eastern European) accent. Alto/Mezzo-Soprano F#3 to D5. Any ethnicity.

Guy:
Male, 22-35. A struggling musician. Lost and mourning a loss, but extremely appealing. Works with his Da in a vacuum repair shop. Must sing and play guitar extremely well. Must be able to perform with a pronounced Irish accent. Baritone F#2 to C#5. Any ethnicity.

Billy:
Male, 30-49. An Irish man with a big personality and a heart of gold.. Owner of the music store where Girl plays piano. Loud, funny and protective of Girl but also has a vulnerability. Must sing and play guitar very well. Must be able to perform with a pronounced Irish accent. Baritone G2 to G4. Character also plays cajon, ukulele, cymbals and snare drum. Any ethnicity.

Reza:
Female, 25-29. A vivacious, sensual, funny, smart Czech girl. Her personality and presence are larger than life. Must sing and play violin/fiddle very well. Must be able to perform with a pronounced Czech (eastern European) accent. Soprano C4 to A5. Any ethnicity.

Baruska:
Female, 45+. Mother of Girl. A cool but caring Czech mother who likes a full house and full stomachs. Not many inhibitions. Must sing and play accordion/piano very well. Must be able to perform with a strong Czech (eastern European) accent. Alto F3 to D5. Character also plays concertina, melodica and tambourine. Any ethnicity.

Bank Manager:
Male or female, 30-49. Seems quite prim and proper but has a secret passion for music. Must sing and play guitar and cello very well. Must be able to perform with a strong Irish (Cork) accent. Tenor/Alto (C3 to C5, Tenor) (F3 to D5, Alto). Character also plays mandolin. Any ethnicity.

Da:
Male, 50+. Guy’s dad. A man of few words, but a lovely and caring father. Must sing and play guitar, ukulele/mandolin well. Must be able to perform with a strong Irish accent. Baritone G2 to G4. Any ethnicity.

Svec:
Male, 22-39. A real odd ball. Loves television and coffee. Must sing and play guitar and drum kit very well. Must be able to perform with a strong Czech (eastern European) accent. Baritone G2 to G4. Character also plays banjo and mandolin. Any ethnicity.

Andrej:
Male, 22-29. Earnest and kind. An employee at a fast food chain but has big dreams. Must sing and play guitar and electric bass very well. Must be able to perform with a strong Czech (eastern European) accent. Baritone G2 to G4. Character also plays cajon, ukulele and tambourine. Any ethnicity.

Eamon:
Male, 22-49. The music studio manager where Guy and Girl record their album. A tough nut to crack but eventually gives into the musician’s talents and shows a true passion and appreciation for music. Must sing and play guitar and piano well. Must be able to perform with a strong Irish accent. Baritone G2 to G4. Character also plays cajon, melodica, castanets and harmonica. Any ethnicity.

Emcee:
Male, 22-49. The emcee at a bar. A good-natured ball buster. Must sing and play guitar and piano very well. Must be able to perform with a strong Irish accent. Baritone G2 to G4. Any ethnicity.

Ex-Girlfriend:
Female, 22-39. Guy’s ex-girlfriend who now lives in New York. Kind and likeable. Must sing and play violin very well. Must be able to perform with a strong Irish accent. Mezzo-Soprano A3 to F5. Character also plays cajon. Any ethnicity.
