Equity actors for roles in Northern Sky Theater's 2024 Season (See breakdown).
Actors will also be considered for new works Readings and Workshops during the 2024 season.
Performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, ages, as well as performers with disabilities, are encouraged to attend.
All roles will be understudied.
Please prepare two short contrasting monologues and two short contrasting songs. An accompanist will be provided. You are welcome to sing a cappella or accompany yourself on any instrument of your choice. Sharing your instrumental skills is
encouraged. You may be asked to read scenes from the season’s world premieres. Scripts remain in process.

Outdoor Summer Season:
HELL'S BELGIANS*
LEO DEWARZEGER – A big-bellied Belgian farmer, more fond of beer, cheese curds, and talking than working on the farm.
ROGER DEWARZEGER - A hardworking, tightly-wound Belgian farmer and Leo’s brother. HENRY - The Dewarzegers’ handyman, possesses a simple, yet powerful, childlike innocence.
ANGELIQUE (SMIRCH)- An awkward, low-level angel who aspires to more, forgets her identity and plays the role of an imp for a while. Speaks in a light, comic French accent.
FARMAGEDDON - The demon in charge of Agricultural Hell.
MILDRED - A baby chick/chicken of dark and mysterious origin. Other actors interact with Mildred in “space” while she is voiced by a visible actor on a microphone sitting at a table to one side. This actor will also handle sound effects, as well as tossing various props into the action, opening door for Mildred, etc.
VARIOUS OTHERWORLDLY VOICES - Unseen characters in Heaven and Hell, voiced by actor who plays Mildred. This actor also voices “Kenny”.
BELGIANS IN HEAVEN
Leo Dewarzeger – a lazy, beer-and-cheese-curd-loving Belgian farmer
Roger Dewarzeger - a hardworking Belgian farmer
Henry - the Dewarzegers’ soft-spoken, simple handyman
Mildred - Leo’s pet talking chicken
Josephine Delvaux - a neighbor of the Dewarzegers whom Roger fancies
Angelique - the Dewarzegers’ guardian Angel with low self-esteem
Saint Peter - Heaven’s gatekeeper, bears a resemblance to Henry
Marie Jaqmot - the pre-incarnation of Josephine living in Heaven
George - the pre-incarnation of Leo, hiding in Limbo

Circa 1908
Sarah Peterson - a woman from Fish Creek, WI. Gruff exterior masks deep feelings. Nora Peterson - Sarah’s younger sister. School Teacher.
John - a man employed by the state of Wisconsin. Young and optimistic.
Charlie - a delivery driver from Fish Creek, Wisconsin. Home town man.
Indoor Summer Season:
GIRLS ON SAND*
present day
GRACE - Energetic and frantic, she can never quite get settled. Often stuck in a loop of negativity. She's in desperate need of her beach day. A writer in search of her worth through everyone but herself.
ZOEY - The mindful Zen friend, full of gratitudes, seemingly in control of everything. She loves a good groaner joke. In denial that she needs to face her greatest fear.
DEBBIE - If wisdom was a person, it'd be bottled up in her unique personality. She's older than Zoey and Grace. You're friendly neighborhood extravert.
Fall Season:
REALITY TRIP*
present day
Olivia – (30s) An eternal optimist eager to reconnect with her best college pals on vacation.
Holly – (30s) A frazzled married mom who runs her own craft business, she is overwhelmed by the constant demands of her hectic life.
Jake – (30s) A gay man whose droll sense of humor thinly disguises his frustration that his acting career never took off after college.
Elliot – (40s) The down-to-earth owner of a Door County vacation rental, he is a first-time landlord with a lot on his plate.
ACE – a charismatic, overly helpful A.I. virtual assistant who adapts to everyone in a unique way (think “SIRI” on steroids).
