Synopsis:
On the verge of welcoming their first child into the world, David Seed returns to the place he feels most safe; his mother’s home. But as he and his wife prepare to welcome this brand new life, his wife’s body betrays her, and for the first time David meets an illness that he’s not sure his anointed voice can heal.

A family is pushed to the breaking point as they struggle to save their beloved matriarch from being robbed of a glorious present by ghosts from her past.

Ida–African-American woman, solid, old fashioned, type who can manage her
home and her community without breaking a sweat; mid-60s.
Betty– African American, Ida’s daughter, a lawyer, type “A” personality; early-mid 40s.
Case– African American, Betty’s husband, easy going, Ivy League type; early mid-40’s.
Sarah–African American, Ida’s granddaughter, energetic and curious; teenager.
Mrs. Lewis/Adela/Angela–Caucasian, Ida’s former employer, nervous, tries to appear controlled/ A new immigrant, works as a cleaning lady for Betty’s family/A graphic designer; mid-20’s.
